Oh My, I never start a roll call!    Well, it is Wed. morning and I'm off to work....again.  I worked July 3 and 4, was supposed to be off Mon/Tues then work 2 more shifts.  However, my unit was so busy they asked me to come in to cover a sick call.  This means I will work 5 12-hour shifts in 6 days.  I'm already tired and today is only the start of #4!  I sure couldn't have done this one year ago!

I had a good appt. with my surgeons's NP yesterday. She's pleased with my loss, exercise level and overall progress and told me to just keep on truckin'  The scale actually moved 2 lbs this week so that's encouraging too!

I'm looking forward to my 1st day off on Friday. I have my workout scheduled, then Emily and I are meeting another family to go swimming in the morning then having a "girls night out" with some other moms and daughters.

Hope everything is good in your world and would love to hear about it!

Hello everyone

I'm at work, like always.

I have been working out the last several days.  Not just going for walks but jogging and weight lifting and stretching .  I'm a sweaty mess afterward.  I'm hoping this will jump start some weight loss.  We shall see.  As much as I always want to I only check my weight on Fridays.

I know what it's like working lots of overtime for days (and months) at a time.  I always complain but always enjoy the big overtime checks.  Right now I have cut back for the summer and have tried to not work too much overtime.  Try to always make time for yourself.  Easier said than done I know.

I don't have any plans this week or weekend.  I don't mind that leaves things open for little things you put off because you're too busy.

Well I hope everyone stays cool.  Have a great day

Good Morning.

No plans for today. I will pick up the kitchen, water the lawn, and do some other things, but nothing exciting.

Starting ot look forward to our Washington D.C. vacation on Aug. 1.
The only bad thing about August, is that I start back to work full time on the 1st of September.

The good thing is The meet and greet on the 14th.I am hoping alot of you can come.

Stay safe, dry and hydrated.

Huggers,
Lisa

Good morning Stephanie and the rest of Illinois!

I am back from vacation, and at work.  It was nice not having to be at work, but not really much of a vacation.  Summerfest was as usual, which is fun, but the same.  We did not get to the museum and spent a lot of time just hanging around the hotel/pool.  We did not get the porch painted or any other chores done around the house due to the fact that rain was predicted every day, but then it did not rain.  I almost took today off to do some things, but decided to come in here to see what is happening.  Turns out, not much.  I might take tomorrow, or maybe next Monday off to get things done.

I am glad to see Jackie, Carol M. and Sharon are all doing well.  Keep it up!  I will be going through recipes here soon, so I will try to post more good stuff that is WLS friendly.

Everyone have a spectacular day!!!!

Tell someone that you love them!

Stephanie, anyone can start the roll call I came on this morning but did not have time to start it.

Good job on the loss, keep it up.

Good tomato and veggie production weather, sorry for those that are having issues with the weather but I am loving it because my tomatoes are finally making progress.

We are going to go see Toy Story 3 tonight after I get out of work.

Good to see everyone here! I'm back from NC ... we timed it just right since MIL doesn't have a/c in the mountains. Good trip, came home relaxed and ready to go.

I'm rescheduling surgery to Sept 14 since July 20 didn't work out. My beautiful daughter Leah got the biggest role she has had so far and I don't want to be 8 days post op, unable to help with costume, etc. 9/14 isn't confirmed yet, but I feel very good about that date. I could also do 8/3, but I have a fun conference on Aug 27-29, with folks I haven't seen in 30 or more years. Kind of a reunion. It would be great to be thinner, but not so good to be 3 wks post op. So I'm hoping to start the lqd diet on Aug 30 and surgery on the 14th. Naturally I hope to go to the meet and greet on the 14th, Lisa!

I'm going to start a thread here about how WLS is a tool. I need some insights.

Good afternoon,
Hope everyone is having a fun day in this heat.  I much prefer the cold.
Yesterday I had my initial apt with the nutrionist.  She went over eating pre-op, post op and life changes.  The eater in me is saying "what no pizza, no chips, etc".  The me I want to be is saying "I can do this".  I know I want to be the me I should be and not the me I have become.  I am so tired of having the little medical blips, high blood pressure, sleep apnea and constant knee pain.  If those three things can go away, that alone will make this journey successful.  I want to be able to move with ease.  I want to buy clothes that do not look like a yard of fabric just draped on.
One piece of advice the nutrionist gave me was to visit this site!  I thought that was funny.  She was very positive about the support from here.
Now to ge the psychologist apt under my belt, go to some support groups and schedule the surgery.
Have a great day all

When you are further out you can have some of those things.  A good resource is www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com  Shelly has some wonderful WLS friendly recipes including Pizza!  She had surgery herself and loves to create recipes.  You can find almost everything there.  Happy recipe hunting!

 Good Evening Everyone!

Well, I made it through today.  The AC was broken on our end of the building and can we say HOT???  Ugh!  I did find a fan in my desk that fits our office guidelines that I had presurgery and pulled that out.  A part has to be ordered.  They hope to get it tomorrow.

I may be changing cubes at work.  Oh the fun we have!  I was told I would not be moving and who would be moving next to me and today, totally different people moved in as neighbors which leaves me thinking I better start packing.  They give us 30 minutes to change cubes.

No special plans for this evening.  Just trying to chill out.

Dawn, good to see you back!

Wow, today was Wednesday but felt like a Monday from heck...

The morning started out fine enough, drank my protein shake, got the boys to rollerskating camp and then went with my Mom to get dog food and some summer workbooks for the boys to work on.

Pick up the boys and had my oldest son, who is 8, basically yell at me for being late.  I was two minutes late and he wasn't the last kid waiting to leave either.  He's been a pill for the past few weeks and I'm at my wits end with him.  He's been extremely rude and angry towards me and I still haven't figured out why.

My Mom is with us so we go to Culvers for lunch and I have a 1/4 of ham and swiss sandwich, minus the bread.  Felt stuffed.  Send my oldest son to go with his 2 brothers to get their free ice cream scoop.  They all come back with chocolate icecream in a cone.  This is not normal for my youngest, he likes it in a cup with M&Ms or sprinkles.  So I ask oldest child, is this what your brother wanted?  He says yes.  Youngest child says NO, he ignored me, I said I wanted cup and sprinkles.  Oldest child denies this again.  So I say fine, I'm going to go up and ask the clerk, then oldest admits that he ignored him and ordered what he wanted, not what youngest child wanted. A big deal? Not really but still he lied which bothers me.

So due to bad behavior we decide no more special treats and we go to a resale shop that is new to us and then to the going out of business sale at Fashion Bug.  I'm looking at clothes when my phone rings and it's my husband who says, "Don't be mad at me"...ohhhhh no.  Turns out husband was in another car accident.  2 years ago he was in a major car accident caused by driving drowsy and totalled the car.  So of course my mind leaps to he's totalled the car again. I ask if he's ok, and he is.  I then ask if he called the police. He hadn't. WHY???? He said that they exchanged info and the car is driveable.  I don't care, our insurance requires a police report.  So I tell him to call the police and the insurance and I will get home asap.

We finish shopping and drive home. I see the car, it wa**** on the driver's side, looks like the girl sideswiped him.  Find out that the girl had been in a few accidents, claimed that she had been having problems with the accelerator in her car, and then lied to the police about having a passenger in the car when she did not.  Oh FUN.  So hubby gets police report and they say that it is both persons faults. I think that is BS.

Then took 2 dogs to vet for annual check up and find out that our ****er spaniel has tapeworm. Fan freaking tastic.  So now all dogs are on treatment.  Both dogs have ear infections. Unbelievable.  So what was supposed to be  a cheap visit ended up being over $200.

Then to top it off my oldest son finally crosses the line tonight and says something VERY rude to me so I flip my lid and take everything away from him.  No more Tae Kwon Do, guitar lessons, day camp, etc.  until he gets his act together.  Hubby goes and talks to him while I cool down and find out the son is angry at me for not letting him go back to his old school this coming fall.  The thing is the old school is being combined with another school and the changes they are making we don't agree with and think it will be a bad atmosphere for the kids. So we have enrolled them at a different Catholic school in the nearby town. But he doesn't understand that and hates me for taking away his friends.  Which is not the case, he's still going to see them, but again, he's 8 and doesn't get that.  So now we are going to have to work on getting him to get the fact that I'm not evil, but actually trying to do what is best for him and his education.

Parenting is NOT for the fainthearted!!!!!!!!!

sorry this is so long. The good news is I bought size Larges at Fashion Bug thinking that they would fit by the time August comes around and when I tried a few on at home they fit now!!! So WOOHOO for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to bed and praying that tomorrow goes better.  It can't possibly get worse right?
