Southern Illinois People (seeing Dr Ahuja)

My first appointment isn't until the end of the month but I'm trying to get as much out of the way as possible.  I was wondering if anyone knew of a Psychologist in the Carbondale area that accepts medicaid?  I did get the list from Dr Ahuja's office but the first number I called, I was told, "I'm sorry, we don't do that" and I'm afraid of hearing that with every number I call.  Otherwise, can you give me an idea what paying out of pocket would cost for any of the providers on the list?

Thanks!

Monika Plumb charges 275. and she is quick. There are 2 psychologist on the Dr's list that accept medicaid one is Dr Qureshi in anna 618-833-7959. The other is Doctor Tracy in c-dale618-351-1213 but there is a waiting list of about 3 months or so. Good luck.

I had mine done at the Egyptian Public Health Department in Eldorado. I forget how much it cost but it was less than $80.00. Could you check with Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Public Health Department.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!  I called Dr. Tracy's office last week and was told they don't do that.  Maybe I just got someone who didn't know, so I'll try again tomorrow.

Just wanted to update this in case anyone else was looking.  Dr. Tracy's office said they do not do this anymore.  Dr. Qureshi's office is not taking new patients until next January.  I'm still looking.  I can't reach any of the other four on the list, it's always an answering machine.

Another update!  I called New Life and was told that they can get me in to see Dr. Terry Brown at St. Joseph in Murphysboro.  Phew, what a relief!

Yeah!  I got in to see Dr Quereshi, but I had my PCP call me in with a referral.  Good luck with Dr Brown, he's the guy who did my sleep study!
