Friday, Friday YAHOO!

I have a retirement party here at the IPD for one of our officers that is retiring. These guys do not listen as I told them that they had to get in line behind me as I was going to retire first as I have more time on than them. Boys, they do not listen.

What is going on in your corner of IL?

Hello everyone

Yeah Friday!!!!  and it's Secret Santa Day at work!!!  That will be fun.

Well all of my worries were unfounded.  I weighed in this morning and I lost 3 lbs!!!  I am losing track now but I think that's 29 lbs lost since I started working out.  If that isn't motivation I don't know what is.  I worked out last night and I am back up to my regular work outs now.  My pants are getting baggy...the ones I bought a month ago!!!  The problem is I'm in between sizes now.  My size 20's are baggy but 18's are still a little tight.  I can get them on but they are too snug for my taste.  I can't wait till I'm in 18's...I think Amanda was in 1st grade the last time I fit into 18's!!!

Since I was sick last weekend and I have to work tomorrow I'm not sure I will get much baking done.  Oh well I shouldn't be eating that yummy crap anyway.

Dawn-  I am very sorry about your friend.  I think it was a very important message to convey that the fight is never over.  Even after the weight is off.  My friend is a good example of that...she lost her weight and lost her band and now she gained it all back.  You know they say once an alcoholic always an alcoholic.  I think obesity is the same way.

I hope everyone enjoys their Friday.  See ya tomorrow

Yeah, It is Friday, One week before Xmas2010. Another year that has flew by.

I am home today, but have a million things to do. I do have my rec room cleaned, and now I am in the office. One room at a time. We are going out to a Private Christmas get together tonight at a local restaurant. I bought a long Swede (sp) skirt with a red shell and a white short sleeved sweater to wear with it. I am looking forward to getting dressed up this evening.

Otherwise, just doing what needs to be done.

Have a safe and warm day.

Huggers,
LISA

Good morning Chris and the rest of Illinois!

I am working today and my boys are going camping this weekend.  I am sort of looking forward to this evening because Liv is having 3 or 4 girlfriends overnight and they have promised to be my "Christmas Elves" and help me get things done.  Yippee!!!!  I really need the help.  After being sick, I feel like I am very behind in everything.

I just found out that my friend died of a heart attack.  She died Monday night (in bed) and they did not find her until Wednesday.  So very, very sad.

Crystal, WAY YO GO!!!!!  I need to get on the workout wagon in some way.  I think I will get my bands and ball out.  It is not very intense, but it will be better than nothing until I can get a plug for the bike/trainer.

We did not get much snow, just a dusting of under an inch.  That is FINE with me.  One less thing to deal with.

Everyone have a splendid day!

This will sound weird but I live by myself and I have thought that one day when I die they won't find me for a couple of days.  I know I shouldn't think of these things but I do.

Well look at it this way she will be in heaven, she will be able to do all of things she couldn't do here because of her weight and pain.  She will be dancing and running and having a great time.  That's what I thought about when my mom died and it makes me smile.

That was exactly my first thought....that she is now dancing to the "big hair" music that she so loved.  Back in the 80's & 90's, she was very involved in the local music scene.  I am glad that she is no longer in pain.  It broke my heart to see her using a walker and being unable to leave her house most days.

As for the living alone thing, maybe you should think about setting something up with Amanda or a good friend.  Something unobtrusive (like a text or email) that you send every morning just to let them know that if it is NOT received to check on you.  It does not sound silly.  I have an aunt that lives in a high rise and they have a system where they put a door hanger on their door each morning.  If those that participate in the program do not hang the sign, the management checks on them.  That is probably not practical for you, but the other might work......Just a thought.

We used a system like that for Hubert's Aunt. She lived next door, and if her bathroom shade was not up in the morning, we would call her and then go over there. She forgot a few times, but it worked 99% of the time.

Crystal, just tell Amanda that you will text her every morning by 9 or so. All you would have to say is I am OK.

Lisa, that is a great signaling system for when watching out for a loved one.

 Good Evening Everyone!

I am SOOOOO glad it is Friday.  After my last 2 hours at work, I went to my car and literally screamed over frustration.  I have been trying to get a customers credit card credited for a purchase for 2 weeks and accounts receivable keeps either cancelling the credit or BILLING the customer.  ARRRRGGGGGHHH!!!  Today I had a second supervisor look over everything with me.  I have done everything correct for two weeks and it is accounts receivable that is screwing up.  Last Friday instead of crediting the customer back some 230.00 the debited them another $500.00   Tonight when I was trying to straighten it out AGAIN the person's reply was," we would have figured it out sooner or later."  Meanwhile the customer thinks I am an idiot and I have egg on my face and I am not the one making the mistake.  GRRRRRR.

Hopefully, the person in accounts receivable has FINALLY gotten it through her thick skull that we need to refund the customer, not bill them.

Other than that, today was nice.  We had a potluck and I pretty much behaved -- took protein only and some fruit.

This weekend I get to do laundry, food shop and try to get presents wrapped and mailed and a few more bought.  I am really behind!  I just cant get motivated.

Yesterday, I finally got in contact with the neurosurgeons office.  They never answer their phone.  They asked some questions and said "we will get back to you"  I then thought that was it, I would not hear back and then this afternoon I got a call saying the doctor wanted to see me this coming week.  Almost sounded as is it was an emergency.  I just cant take time off work for the whole day to make a trip to Peoria so I put it off until the following week when he is up this way.  There sure was a change in attitude from yesterday to today in their staff's response to me.

Crystal, I have always had an arrangement with others  so if I did not show up for work or a neighbor did not notice activity they will check.  It works out great.

Have a great weekend!

Hello Cyber friends,
Wow I can not believe it is so late and I am just checking in.  I am hoping all had a great day and will have a peaceful sleep.
Last night I had the pleasure of see Wicked in Chicago.  If you have not seen this musical, you really need to try and go.  What a great family show.  The writers of this musical really paid attention to fitting this in with" Wizard Of Oz".  if I can I will try to see it again.  It is a shame this musical is only here till mid January.
I am doing better every day.  I do have a strange craving and wonder if others have experienced something similair.  I am craving milk.  Has this happened to others?  The milk sits wonderfully in my baby tummy and feels good in the stomach.  oh well, another source of protein.  I am drinking the Oberweis fat free and yummy!!
Well, good night all.
Have a great Saturday
Debbie
