 Good Afternoon Everyone!

It was a pretty day outside!  I am enjoying the signs of spring!  Today was fairly good at work.  No big events or issues.  I still would like our workplace to stop being so negative but I am not sure that will ever change.

Debbie -- Way to go for riding 5 miles!  The thought of that does me in!  What an accomplishment.

Monica -- Welcome to Pickles.  A new addition is always a blessing.  I was given Muschie the day I took Inky in to be put down and I did not want another cat but felt pity for a cat that had been in a cage for 6 months.  Muschi became my all time favorite kitty!

Dawn, I look forward to hearing how David's hair turns out and what style they come up with!  This could get interesting.

Jules, sorry about the drama with your car.  It always seems to be something.  My neurologist has given me a prescription for Relapax to take once I get a migraine.  It will send that migraine packing in 1/2 hour as a rule.  If not, I take a second pill and that does the trick.  I LOVE it!

Lisa, dont get too ambitious with that cleaning!

Everyone have a great evening!

Ok my interest is piqued.  I was just on the website and I am really thinking I would like to try this medicine.  I wanted to ask you how much does this cost.  I know that our insurance copayment is different.  Name brand (non-formulary) costs me $40...and I see there is a $15 coupon on the website.

hi, saw you were wondering about migraines, ive gotten so many i should be a doctor.
anywho, i go to the va and they have me on nortriptylin and magnesium,
its helped me maybe its helped you,
also see if your doc can get you a good bp cuff, take your bp when the mig. is at its worst, it may be a bp problem.
could you send me a dollar? i need to feed my monkey.

I've tried so many migraine meds I have lost count and none of them have worked.  A combination of Topamax (a seizure medication they have found to work on migraines) and a beta blocker used for high blood pressure, Inderal is what my doctors have me on right now and we are having success with it.  I still have some breakthrough migraines that I treat with Fioricet (which has a 50/50 success rate of getting rid of my migraines) or if its really bad I go into the doctor and get a shot of Toradol.  But this topamax/inderal combo has brought my migraine rate down from daily/multiple times a day to a couple times a month which is a HUGE improvement.  Depending on how chronic your migraines are you could ask about topamax or a topamax/beta blocker combo.

Unfortunately, I can't take Topamax.  Last September I started taking it and 3 days into it I ended up in the hospital.  Almost every side effect that was listed I had.  I was better in a day or two...but ya no more Topamx for me.  I am doing OK on Depakote as a maintenance drug...I was looking for something to take when I have a break through migraine.  I almost get them frequently because my trigger is over-exertion and I have been jogging lately...but I am insisting on not letting my migraines stop me from jogging!!!

I used to take Topomax but stopped since I really wasn't getting migraines anymore.  But they have started up again.  I used to give myself a shot of imitrex when I got them and that seemed to help.  Don't know if I can take that now since the surgery.  I will look into the some you guys have discussed here.

Thanks!!!!
