Thursday Roll Call
Hi Eveeryone, I have decided since we are flying into my brother and sister inlaws. My flight gets
in first I get some coffee and then go to my my Mom and Dads gate and sit there waiting for the
flight arrival. I am not going to say anything. I see if they can reconize me. I think I have the best laugh. I am truely looking forward to this.
I hope everybody is doing good.

Good morning Steven and the rest of Illinois!
Steven....your family will be very surprised and happy at how much healthier you are!
TODAY is my 5 year Surgiversary. WOW, as I was saying the other day.....time really DOES fly and change incredibly. I had hoped that the surgery would put an end to my wieght struggles, but alas.....I am not one of the lucky ones. I struggle a lot. I need to get back to "basics" and hope I can at least get back to my low weight, which was still 30-40 lbs. from goal.
Would I do it again? YES! Do I wish I had gotten a DS? YES! I am VERY compliant with my supplements and I believe that the DS would have been a beter fit for me. At the time, it was not much of an option though, so I will carry on with the blessing that I have.
But....YES! I would do it again. I feel SO much better than I did and I am no longer embarrased to go out and be seen. I can DO so many more things and so far, I have been very lucky with NO complications. I just need to "buckle down" and get "back in the game" remembering that first year when everything seemed to revolve around food and exercise.
I wish you all a fantastic, wonderful, splendid day!

Hi Everyone!
Brand new to this forum...kind of didn't realize the geographical forums were out there, and glad to see the one for my state is as active as it is.
I'm Karen, and am having VSG in Peoria on 8 November. I started on my 2 week liquid diet on Monday, so it's nice to be past all of the carb craving that comes out of the first few days.
Mostly, I'm just looking forward to a healthier me in the near future.
All the best for a great end to your week!

Methodist is where I'll be. The gallbladder came out at OSF (and my husband worked there for several years) so that's a bit of an unknown, but Peoria Surgical Group recently signed a non-compete with OSF, so starting pretty soon, they'll be the only ones who can operate there. I've been happy with Dr Salimath so far...my preop appt is next week, so just trying to enjoy the liquid diet for another 10 days or so
