Thursday Roll Call
Happy Friday eve....a rainy icky day here.
I am tired...as always.
The last week I have renewed my commitment to working out and have been running on my treadmill. Ugh...actually I always feel great afterwards. During I am tempted to quit...but I don't. Then later in the evening I ran out and bought a new electric blanket. I am an electric blanket person. I keep the the thermostat low and snuggle under an electric blanket. My old one wasn't working right anymore. It was only warm near the power cord even on the highest setting. So I bought a nice electric blanket (the last one was only $25). Hopefully this one will last more than one season!!!!
Today I have nothing planned. Just work. What do you guys have planned today.
Well I better get going and get read for work. Have a wonderful day.
Vicki----you are getting very close!
Crystal------the electric blanket......I used to have one and I really loved it, but they can be a fire hazard, I heard. I never really believed it, but the one I had worked well until I had a bedspread over it that had little metalic threads running through it. In the dark, when I rolled over in bed, the blanket SPARKED and CRACKLED! Scared the heck out of me and I got rid of it. Are they safer now? I would LOVE to have another one as I am always freezing.
I am working as usual, then if we are not too busy, I will attend Liv's student-led teacher conferences. It is kind of cool......the student goes through a packet of work from each class with comments from each teacher and we talk about how she is doing. With Liv, there are no surprises. She is an excellent tudent and is taking advantage of all opportunities.
I have a couple of things to pick up for the 2 parties we have going on. Amber and her cousins are throwing a surprise 60th for Amber's aunt tomorrow and I am taking the garlic bread and salad. They are making spaghetti----I will take some protien for myself. Saturday, Liv is having a Halloween party and Riley will be out with us all weekend!
Everyone have a splendid day!
I have had an electric blanket since I was in HS (a lonnnnnnngggggg time ago) and only threw it away a few years ago because it stopped working. Electric blankets are completely safe or they would not have a UL approval on them. They also can be put in the washing machine for cleaning. Most people would say - that is so dangerous; it is not or they would/could not put those directions on the product. All of the wiring is completely enclosed. One would have to be using it as a rope to climb out a window in order to ruin the wiring. In addition to an electric blankie we have an electric mattress pad. You are really only supposed to use one or the other (manfacturer's instructions) but we do not heat our bedroom and it gets cold in there during the winter. You can have a light blanket or afghan over the top of an electric blanket - we do as it helps keep the heat in. One should just not have say a down comforter over it.

I am home again with another blinding headache! It has been ongoing for 4 days now and I have wanted to leave work every day so today I just did not go in. I finally got a call from my doctors office from all my testing and it seems that I have completly clogged sinuses. Expensive way to diagnose it but no other symptoms. Go figure. I am now on antibiotics (as soon as they deliver them). I cant believe that clogged sinuses can cause so much pain and dizziness!

I am still loving Beemer's haircut. It is so cute. I just cant get over it. He seems to have adapted well to it as have the other cats.
I've been job hunting on line. Been thinking about taking the leap. There are a couple I may apply for. It's a scary prospect but I just hate the micromanagement where I work. I also have to pay some bills before they come after me!

Crystal, I have to laugh. I never knew what a Columbia coat was. I had to look it up. Glad you found one and got such a great deal. Also glad you got a new electric blanket that works! If Jasper sleeps with you then you will find that you have your own little personal ho****er bottle built in him! I have managed to get my kitties to lay at stragetic spots (my feet, my back, my head, my tummy) and they keep me warm in the winter. Especiall the one on foot duty as I always have cold feet!

Vicki, you will be joining us on the losers bench in no time! I am so happy for you. It must feel good to have all the requirements out of the way.
Dawn, as usual, you have a lot to do! I like the unique way that Liv's school does parent/teacher conferences! That is a terrefic way to involve the student -- after all, it is about them and forces them to take owneship of their performance. Enjoy your parties!
