Monday Roll Call

Hello everyone

Back to the grind today...that went by super fast.  I can't complain I got alot done and I did a lot of relaxing too.  It just always goes by so fast!!!!

Yesterday Amanda came by to do laundry and we just hung out together.  Only thing is I stayed up to late...I'm tired now!!!!

Amanda and Charles are going away on a long weekend to a place called Turkey Run.  I am taking their kitty for the weekend as a dry run to see if our cats get along and if he behaves.  Because while they are in the Peace Corp I am taking their cat.  So if all goes well this weekend and their cat adjusts well then I will be his surrogate mom for two years!!!!  I think Jasper will love having a playmate.  I think he gets into more trouble because he's bored.

Well I better get going.  Have a good day.  See ya later.

Good Morning,

I had a nice day yesterday, did a few things around the house, then Monica and her family came for dinner. I always enjoy it when the kids are here for a weekend dinner.

I agree with you Crystal. Back to the grindstone today.

Stay safe today,

Hugs,
LISA

Good afternoon Crystal and the rest of Illinois.

I am back at work.

I am having a very sad and hard time with my son.  He turned 18 last Spring and wants to be an adult.  OK, I understand that part.  He has been unpleasant at home and uncooporative, sometimes staying out all night or all weekend without a phone call.  He keeps his room a sty and shows disrepect in other ways.

Long story short----this weekend, Todd and I gave him a specific time to be home on Saturday night to show that he can treat us with respect and can also respect our wishes.  He did not come home nor call and I finally saw him this morning here at work (he works in the same place).  I decided that he was showing his decision to leave the household so I packed his clothes and other personal items and invited him to take them with him today.  He seemed a bit surprised, but did not comment.  So.......I am not sure if David still lives with us and his decision makes me sad and worried.

I hope you are all having a better day than me.

Oh, Dawn! I am so sorry to hear this. Hang in there!

You are a good and loving mom. This sort of thing--testing boundaries--is a natural part of growing up. Maybe this is just the thing to snap him back to reality. Right now, my five-year old boy is giving us a run for our money. I am afraid to see him in 13 years!

Right now, your son is probably scared. Try and give him some room to "save face" if you can and compromise. (I am sure you have thought of this but it's hard to remember everything in the heat of the moment,)

Keep us posted.

Thanks Nicolle!

I DID tell him that he is welcome to come home at any time (including tonight) but that things will be different from now on and he will be expected to do what he knows is right.

At lunch, he still hadn't taken his things out of my car........

Sounds smart of you. Look on the bright side, at least he still knew to show up for work. He is not completely out of touch with what's right. Be strong!
