Hello everyone

Yeah!!! Friday!!!  No relaxing though!!!!  I have work, groceries, then I have to come home and start getting things ready for the weekend.  I'm excited to have my family over (it's Amanda's aunt or my ex-in laws).  They are bringing lots of Puerto Rican food with them...which I don't like but it's Amanda's favorite.  There are a few dishes meat dishes they make I like but I hate anything with rice...because I hate rice...yuck.

Amanda's day was good yesterday.  They went to the dentist yesterday and she got a clean bill of health...of course...I spent enough on those teeth while she was growing up!!!!  Charles needed to have 3 fillings filled and the really nice thing....the dentist insisted on doing it for free when he found out they were Peace Corp candidates!!!  How nice is that!!!!

Dawn-  Take it easy...remember pain is your body's way to slow you down.  

Lisa-  I'm sorry to hear about your car accident.  At least no one was hurt and hopefully it doesn't inconvenience you too much.

I took the car in for an estimate yesterday afternoon, not good, but not bad. It is for $1500. Thank goodness for insurance.

Nancy, it happened at Charters and Raccuglia Drive. I was heading  toward the post office.

Dawn, Don't overdo it. Pain is not good.

Hubby just informed me he thinks it is time for a new microwave oven. I told him we will go cheap on it, it is mostly used for warming up things, popcorn, and a couple of things that are made in it.

My day is going to be cleaning and hopefully getting out in the yard. We will see what happens.

Morning everyone!

It is a cloudy morning with thunderstorms on the horizon --- BUT  I will take that over snow any day!  It is colder today but supposed to be back up to 70's tomorrow.  Yeah!  AND it is Friday   Tomorrow night is our annual fundraising auction for our animal shelter.  It is a big event and is always fun!  I missed it last year due to surgery.  So I am really looking forward to it this year.  My wallet wont appreciate me though.  But I often get some really great deals. 

Crystal, I hope you enjoy your company this weekend!  Have fun!  That was really nice of Charles and Amanda's dentist to donate his services! 

Lisa, I am so sorry to hear about your car estimate --- Ouch!  I have never liked the corner you had your accident on.  It is a bad intersection.  As far as microwaves, I will be in the marked tor one soon.  Mine is rusting out.  There was one at Walmart on their clearance aisle for $50 but it is only 1 cubic foot and I wanted a little bigger but it is a steal at that price. 

Dawn, I am sorry your leg is hurting more but that probably is from you not keeping it elevated as much.  That is hard to do when you are more mobile.

Lisa---sorry to hear about the damage to the car, but it is better than damage to YOU.

Nancy---I know how much you enjoy this event for your shelter.  Hope you get some great stuff!

Not too much goin on here today.  I worked for 4 hours yesterday then took an hour and a half long nap.  Todd took me out to dinner last night and I have left overs for lunch today.  Yummy!

We won a stay at a condo in Sheridan, IL next weekend/week.  It is available for us the 6th through the 12th.  It is at Silver Leaf/Fox River Resorts.  Anyone from that area know anything about this place?  Any restaurant recommendations?  Is there a good grocery store nearby or should we pack it all?  Any and all insights and suggestions will be appreciated.

 The condo is in the "Lodge Building".  We won it at an auction so it is paid for and we figure we might as well go but since my injury, I will not be able to do any of the activities.  Todd and the kids can go swimming and hiking at Starved Rock and I guess I will stay behind and work.  Amber and Riley are coming for the weekend, so I guess we will have Easter there.

I guess I'd better get in the shower and get to work.

Dawn, Sheridan is bigger then Rock City, but not much. I don't think there is a brand name grogery store, or much else either. I know they have a pizza place and a small cafe. Starved Rock is a good 20 miles from Sheridan. Ottawa does have some decent places to eat, but thats about 10 miles away. I think the resort has a pool, and maybe a reastrant. The one thing I do know, is they don't treat thier help very good. Nor pay them well. We get some of their people in our office.

 Dawn,  I agree with Lisa, not much to do in that area as far as going out to eat but there are some great restaurants in Ottawa.  If you find that you are going to be left alone at the condo, let me know, I will come and visit you!  It is just a short drive away.  As Lisa says, they do not have a very good reputation -- I know they are out to make money but it is a pretty area.
