Wednesday Roll Call

Hello everyone

I have some things to get done today.  While getting the garage situated yesterday I found that I have some cans of paint to dispose of.  So I am going to Homedepot get this stuff that dries up paint instantly.  I have a few other things to do today.  I also have to call into Unemployment for the last time today!!!! Yeah!!!  

Tomorrow I pick up the U-haul and start moving stuff into storage.  My biggest worry right now is that everything will fit into the storage locker.  I got the 10X10 locker and they said that should be more than fine but it seems small to me.  I am going to move all of the small stuff myself.  Boxes, chairs, wall pictures, misc stuff like that.  Doesn't sound like much but I will be more than busy tomorrow!!!    Then the next day is the big stuff.  

When I get up North I am staying with my friend at first because my family is out of town on vacation and won't be back till Tuesday.  So I will be living out of my bags for a few days and then I can settle into Brenda's house and try to make myself at home.

Happy Wednesday. We are up early despite putting on close to 6.50 miles on the sneakers yesterday. It is starting out with clear skys but we will see.

We are going to enjoy the outdoors while we can today because of the incoming weather on Thurs & Fri. We have plans for those days also that involve indoor activities but we just have to walk to them possibly in some rain. Oh well, we will not melt.

Well, the first cup of java is done brewing. By for now.

Christine- your Galena vacay sounds great.  I know there are wonder B&Bs and little shops and wineries there.  I have an ex co-worker who would go every year.

The DeSoto House is not exactly a B&B but it is grand especially with the history of the place. There are small B&B's near the downtown but this is more my style of a place to stay. There isn't a vacant shop on Main St and we found out that there is sort of a waiting list for when one of them closes. The store is not vacant very long. I have my list of which ones to go into starting with Galena Beads for jewelry making.

It seems that the girls are "splitsville" with owning a shop together. One girl is still in the store and it is now called Rustic River (she got $54 of my dollars). The other girl (Galena Beads) was supposed to be open at noon today and I was there at 1:45 and it was closed up tight. That ticked me off. I still want to go there to see what other beads and charms I can get for some custom necklaces to make.

It is funny, here I am getting ready  to enjoy my summer off, and Crystal, you are happy to have found a job.I know, the job hunt is brutal, and you were able to crack it.

I am going to stop and get bagels this morning. I won't be seeing these co-workers again until September.Just a little thank you for a great year.

Christine, have fun this week. Remeber a rainy day on vacation is still better then a sunny day at work.

Lisa-  What do you do during your time off.  Is it considered a short term lay-off???  And you can collect unemployment?  I always wondered. 

Crystal, It is considered layed- off, since the program can be pulled at any time. If it is, then we can collect indefinatily. But yes, I do get unemployment during the summer, at least as the way the state of Illinois does it. I can draw 1/2 my benefit, since I get Social Security as well. Illinois is one of 3 states that punishes you for working, drawing unemployment and SS.
