Monday Roll Call
Thanks everyone for the encouraging words. I really need them this morning! I love my husband but right now I feel hate! I don't like this feeling! I am a happy easy going person and I just......... I took a 10 minute breather to go to the post office and he wanted to go, I politely told him, no! I need a few minute by myself, then I fet like a royal ass, because I hurt his feelings. Until he was his rude nasty mouth self. I try to help him and the first thing he did this morning was get up and have a carb loaded breakfast. He thinks he is supposed to be shoveling food in if he's awake! All I can say is God give me the strength to get through this test!
I did lose 4 pounds with the 5 day lapband pouch test and, I get full like I should with my 1/2 cup. I want to eat away my anger like the old days, I refuse to do this!
Christine and Dave sending prayers your way for Mr Dave today. I pray for a speedy recovery!
I have been here, but don't always have time to post.
Todd and I went up to Milwaukee Saturday and stayed overnight, just the two of us. We had tickets to a band he likes at Summerfest. There was a LOT of walking involved and I am a bit sore, but I managed! I found out that the Milwaukee Public Market has a FRESH fish market and had HUGE lobster tails for only $ 12.95 each! I did not get any as we had other stops to make but when I go back (which might be tomorrow) I am taking a cooler! We also found an awesome "smoked meat" place. I won't call it a "barbeque" because they smoke the meats and bring them to the table without sauce. There are 5 sauces on the table to choose from so you can try different things and use as much or as little as you wish.
David is disappointing us by doing NOTHING....no job hunt, no chores, nothing unless aksed. He has not even cleaned all of his stuff out of his car. He mostly sleeps and plays video games. This will NOT last long at this rate but puts us in a bind.........do we actually throw him into the street? I think we will have to drag him to the recruiter, but I'm not sure even the recruiter will take him if he doesn't want to do anything for himself.
I saw my ortho doc on Friday and he says the pain I am having is NOT normal this far out. He wants to do a CT scan to see if maybe the bone is not reallly healing. He said that non-healing can be caused from smoking.......I told him that I don't smoke but am exposed to 2nd hand 9 hours per day. When I told my boss that his smoking could be causing me not to heal, he said I should not sit next to Todd's camp fires. GRRRRRR......
We have reservations to return to Milwaukke tomorrow noght as a family but are now reconsidering. There is just a lot going on.
I know that Connie is in Door County so that's why she is not checking in.
Karen------I am sending lots of love and stregth your way. I understand completely how it is to love a family member but hate the situation.
Randy---thanks for the prayers....that means a lot to me.
Keeping Dave and Chrs in my thoughts.
Know that I am thinking of each of you, but got to get back to work......
Good afternoon!
I'm back from Door County, more's the pity, because it was MUCH cooler there! We were there six days and it was the first time I felt "normal" since the surgery in October. We went to our favorite places, both shops and restaurants and spent a lot of time sitting and reading and looking at Lake Michigan! I was careful with food and we brought some home. New resolution: ALWAYS have a cooler in the car. WE found a cheese shop and were able to get several interesting cheeses as well as boar sausage! I was hoping to bring home some smoked whitefish but couldn't get it today so maybe I need to check out Dawn's place in Milwaukee. Of course I could check Valli here in Rockford because they actually might carry it. I couldn't post in DC because I only had my ipad and it won't post on OH.
I wish we could have stayed another week but the owner of the house is always there for the 4th of July. We might see if we can get the house the last weekend in July because there is an art fair I'd love to attend.
If any of you are interested in DC, we have been there probably 50 times or more so we know where to shop, eat, stay etc. The house we rented this time is not available to anyone but personal friends of the owner, but we have stayed in motels, condos and resorts, so just ask.
Thinking of all of you this week and reading your posts. It's good to be able to post.
Connie

Sorry for not posting for a few days. Life can be busy. I have been reading everything and thinking about you all.
Yesterday I took my daughter and her friend to Hurricane Harbor at 6 Flags. I thought I was sitting the shade, however, my legs and top tell a different tale!! I am so red!! Oh well, it could be worse!
I work tomorrow and then off the rest of the week.

Steven - Where in NY are you going? Just curious as I grew up in upstate! Enjoy your trip.
Crystal - I am so happy for you that your new job is going well. I am sure you are excited to get your own place and get settled. The time will go by faster than you think.
Lisa - Here is your poem: Monday: Wash Day, Tuesday: Ironing Day, Wednesday: Sewing Day,
Thursday: Market Day, Friday: Cleaning Day, Saturday: Baking Day, Sunday: Day of Rest
Nancy - Enjoy spending time with your family and your days off!
Kevin - Welcome to the group. Congrats on your surgery approval. You are in for the ride of your life!!
Randy - Hope you are staying cool down there. Cook co. has been weather crazy. Drink lots of water!!
Karen- Keep your chin up and put all your problems into the hands of your higher power. It is so hard to try to help/guide someone who is not ready to be helped. Not sure if you are religious but the Serenity Prayer is a good prayer when you are stressing.
Dawn - Sounds like you and your husband had fun in Milwaukee. I may have to check out the fun shops you mentioned. Hope your situation with your son gets better soon. I am sure it is very frustrating.
Connie - Welcome back. You sound like you had fun in Door Co. I am sure you are so happy to be home in the heat.
Well all, have a great night!!
