Illness and Medications

Hi everyone, I have a question and so far have not been able to find any information, so I was hoping someone out there may know, or at least be able to send me in the right direction. I know that after WLS there is a problem absorbing vitamins and minerals and such so how does that work if you have an illness and need to take an antibiotic? Thanks in advance Anita

Anita, Strangely enough, most meds are still absorbed just like before surgery...even sustained release meds. Kathy ps pls. dont ask me to explain why, exactly..because I really dont know! LOL

Well, after surgery I had a massive infection (of the female sort YUCK). They just upped the potency of the antibiotics and I took it more often. Keep taking your vitamins and you won't even have to worry about it!

Anita most antibiotics come in a liquid form also... I use Vitamist multi spray for women and the B-12 spray (thanks Melissa) and my levels are excellent!!!! Debby
