Jason, I had no pain medication other than demerol and that ended the evening of surgery. I felt great and despite the nurses bests efforts I didnt take any more pain meds they were all in shock... but I come from a long line of women who have very high pain thresholds so it really wasnt a big deal to me.... I was up moving quick too.. thanks to my mom Nurse Ratchett... she's a retired OR nurse and has no sympathy for anyone LOL
Lora,
I did take everything but the kitchen sink, and didn't do a thing with any of it.I was STONED from the medicine. The doctor had to turn down the IV meds machine. They had it set too high for me.I couldn't open my eyes.I had whole conversations with people that I don't remember them being there. Anyway, that's my story.Good Luck,Take Care,Paula
LOTION!!
I started to get dry really quick.. had the monkey slather lotion on my back to keep it from itching.
also concur on the chapstick or something for your lips (I use DCT) and hair products. I also brought my own pillow (a little smooshy pillow for the small of my back).
Something no one else mentioned is toothbrush/toothpaste.. I also brought some of those Oral-B wipes.. makes your breath fresh in a jiffy!!
Oh Yeah! Bring your best attitude!!
It will help, I promise!
