Hi Everybody - just wondering if anyone has a medical alert ID. What's it say and where'd ya get it? Is it necessary? Colleen

Hi Colleen I got mine from laurenshope.com (just add the www.) to it. Mine says: Gastric Bypass NO NG w/o Scope No NSAIDs Asthma, Diabetes II See Wallet Card The card in my wallet has my surgeon's name and contact info on it. I figure better safe than sorry - I drive a lot by myself for work and school, and if something would happen where I was unable to speak for myself, they'd know, because the scar on my abdomen could be for a many different reasons! Hey Sassy Cathy, I was looking at the id bracelets on laurenshop.com the other day, and they have the cool watches and just regular beaded bracelets w/out the watch face, and do you think medical people will know that what is on my wrist is a medical bracelet? Maybe i'll ask the paramedic that comes in to tan if they check all bracelets. Thanks~~~ ~Kerri~ P.s. Happy late Birthday~

Thanks Kerri I've been told that the medics are trained to look for the bracelets and necklaces. Mine always slides so that the alert tag is on the bottom side of my wrist and I get more complements on the bracelet itself and most are usually surprised to find that it is what it is. Hugz!

Non Steriodal Anti Inflammatory Drugs Ibuprofin, Naproxen Sodium (Aleve) ... stuff like that. It can irritate your pouch bigtime.

You're welcome That's also why we're only supposed to take Tylenol for pain/fever, etc. Some docs ok it for occasional use but most say no from what I've seen.

This is a subject I never thought about until the other day. I passed out and my wife called for an ambulance and though I came to before they arrived it did make me think. Would they have given me a NG tube? Would a medical alert ID be looked for?
