Good Evening Illinois! I have successfully jumped through all the hoops that my surgeon set and my insurance company set higher...they didn't know 500 pounds could jump that high!!! I am scheduled for surgery April 15, 2005 at Rush. I would like to get this most out of this resource (meaning obesityhelp.com). Any suggestions, hints, tips or tricks between now and then? Next question - legal issues such as advance directives, living will, last will and testament, health care power of attorney--where can I find information on these items. God's Blessings, Dave

Hello Dave....first, congrats on getting your surgery date!! I had my surgery on jan 18th of this year, my only complication was that I needed a blood transfusion 1 day after due to my rapid heartbeat. I would suggest that you ask your Dr. if you can give blood in advance of ur wls just in case you need it, and if you don't it can be given to another person in need........I will keep u in my prayers...Dawn

Dave, We live in Mendota, so you're (comparatively) from our neck of the woods. My wife and I are just starting the process, and am considering going to either the Wish center or Kishwaukee. Where are you going to, and which insurance company did you have to fight with? I'm sorry that I can't offer any help to YOU at this point, but to wish you good luck, and our hopes that you meet all of your goals for your life. Rob
