Help!

I'm in Chicago. I just found out my insurance doesn't cover gastric bypass surgery at all. Does anyone have any insurance they can recommend that I might qualify for? I appreciate it!

I had Blue Cross/Blue Shield Wellmark (Alliance Select)... they approved me in 1 day!

Thanks, Brooke! That would be great if something like that would work for me. I'm just worried that with pre-existing conditions, I might not qualify for insurance ... I'm looking into it nonetheless.

Is self pay an option? My doc has a special set up for self pays. He charges less and thye hospital does too. Just a thought!

Thanks, Kym. I think the only way it would be an option is if I finance it somehow. But I'll tell you what -- I really should qualify for this surgery (my bmi is above 45, and my co-morbidities are numerous). I just don't know if I'll qualify for another insurance due to these pre-existing conditions!
