Oh honey-is it hot or what! I can't believe that in 26 hours I will be able to find out the time my surgery is scheduled for. Did Jeremy stay at the Carle Guest House? I have applied for a room there for family but won't know until the morning of surgery day if we get one. I went ahead and told my parents about this surgery, because the night after my carpal tunnel, my mom said her Dr. told her to have WLS. She was a little more receptive now, but still tells me that I am going to die on my son's 20th birthday (28th). My 10 year old has visiting them for 4 weeks and last night she called to say they can't come here until Saturday, July 2nd. I had been SOOOO calm, not nervous, not anxious, not even excited. When I heard that - I hung up and bawled for over an hour! #1-I wanted to see Collin before I had the surgery since it has been so long and I miss him so much! #2-I have only had 1 other surgery where my mom wasn't right there to make sure I had a cool washcloth, ice chips, nurses doing their job right, you name it. I know I am 41 years old and even though my mom and I don't see eye to eye on a lot of things, I still want her there. I called to say I would come down to get Collin today, of course that was between sobs. They called me back and said they would be here tomorrow night before my surgery and stay until Wednesday. (My dad has to be back for kidney dialysis on Thursday morning at 6:30 and it's a 7 hour drive.) Now, this morning, my neighbor called to check on me and has agreed to watch my puppy all week. That's all I needed to not worry anymore. My hand hurts like the dickens(whatever that means). I hate taking the pain meds but I still have to right now and Dr O said that was fine. The great news is that might fingers have not been numb one single time since I had the surgery. That is SOOOO cool! I can't wait until I can start playing my piano again!!! I may even start teaching my son how to play this summer before school starts back. He wants to learn and he is at the place where it is so new that he will WANT to practice a lot. Okay, I'm writing a book and it's time to give my hand a rest. Did you feel really hot in the hospital or cold? I am packing today and just wondered what I should pack. Hugzz, Cindy Lou Who

Hey girl- I dont have but just a minute to write ya back. Jeremy stayed with me the whole time in the hospital. Which was nice, but the last day or so I wanted to KILL him..lol As far as when I was in the hospital, I was nuetral. I did get hot on the 2nd day, but they had me covered in like 3 or 4 blankets. I am hot natured anyhow, so I kicked off all the blankets and kept the sheet on. I wish I knew how to play the piano, thats one thing I always wanted to do. I can play, "happy birthday" and a couple other small ones, but thats it. Nothing extravagant. I'm glad you get to see your kiddo's before surgery. I would have been a nutcase if mine werent there. I"ll probably give you a call the day or so after your surgery to see how you are. I know how I was the first day and am soooo glad nobody called me then. Anyhow, I have to run, I'll talk to you later!! ~ Lora -56lbs
