Chandra mine was removed long before surgery. I know Dawn's surgeon prefered he remove hers and he did.. If it has to come out call Dr. O's office and see what he thinks you should do. Due to your new innards he may be the one that wants to take it out. I would call him first though!!! Debby

I'm sorry your having problems with your gall bladder. My WLS surgen took mine out at the same time he did my surgery, to avoid going back in later. I wish I could help....Dawn

Chandra, I had to have my gallbladder removed 7 months after my surgery and my WLS surgeon removed it. It was a very simple procedure. I was scheduled for 9am and I was home by 3pm. I had it done Lap and the pain was very minimal. I'm sure everyone's experience is different though. Good luck and take care of yourself! Mellisia

Yes, I had an attack and my surgeon was very clear about wanting to do it himself. That may have been because I have the band and my port was very close to where he needed to make an insicion. It didnt matter, I wouldnt have wanted anyone else touching me! I say stick with your surgeon if at all possible. You are comfortable with him, etc., dawn

Hi Chandra ~ I had my gallbladder removed by my WLS surgeon. My WLS was 7/31/03 and my gallbladder came out in January 2004 - right after the new insurance year with the new deductible started. I hope all is well with you.
