binge eating while waiting on insurance?
Hey Illinois Girls and Guys, I have noticed that while I wait on my insurance news -I submitted 2/16/06 that I have been totally overeating like crazy. My therapist said that she had real doubts that I had the heart to make it after surgery because my overeating now showed I wasn't committed. Any of you have any of these issues pre surgery? Kim M.
Dear Kim,
I will always be a compulsive over eater. What I can tell you is that I learned and am always learning more, to change my lifestyle, after I had my gastric bypass. Before my surgery I was nervous, and I can't say I wasn't eating more than I should. But beating myself up, was part of what got me to 430 pounds. I have learned through my last 6 years plus, that I wasn't really helping myself. so take heart, and just calm yourself if you can, the eating won't help, it won't give you the comfort you are seeking, your new lifestyle will, so just try to think of that, when you put food in your mouth, you are in for the most fantastic thing that will happen to you, so start early if you can. Just eat a bit less, get ready for a New Lifestyle. Hope this Helps!!!
Take Care,
always Linda

I ate a lot before surgery. Maybe it was emotional eating or maybe it was the knowledge that I wasn't going to be able to eat a lot after surgery. Now, down over 100 pounds, I'm pretty sure that my overeating before surgery wasn't because I didn't have the motivation to do it.
Do you feel like your committed? Do you want this more than anything?
Then don't let anyone else tell you otherwise!
Good Luck with the Insurance!
