I HAVE FINISH ALL OF MY TEST AND I HAVE BEEN APPROVED I AM JUST WAITING ON MY DATE. HAVE YOU HAD SURGERY YET OR ARE YOU GOING TO HAVE SURGERY? WELL GOOD LUCK TO YOU
Lisa
I'm scheduled for the informational seminar on March 28th and then for an initial appointment with Dr. Alverdy the following week. Can you guys give some insight on what to expect from the informational or initial appt. I've met Dr. Alverdy and his surgery team (all of them are awesome, especially his nurse practitioner Uzma), but it was not an appropriate time to ask him those questions. If you have any info to share please do. Thanks
I don't think I went to an informational seminar. I had my psych eval, nutritionist appointmentand meeting with Dr. Alverdy all on the same day. What I can tell you is that you should be aware of what surgery YOU would like. He is going to give you his opinion but it's imporatant to already know what you want and have your research done. When I met with Dr. Alverdy I had a binder that I kept all of my information in and I had two pages of questions that I asked him about the DS(which is the surgery I'm having). If you have any more questions feel free to ask or email me

Hello ladies, I am also a patient of Dr. Alverdy's. I have had my consults, and yes I have met with nutrionist & psych & Dr Alverdy himself. there will be a resident working w/Alverdy to give you a complete physical. So Undress! you get a Breast exam, a RECTAL EXAM, YES YOU HEARD ME, RECTAL!!!! and they check your lymphnodes, check for swelling. I told them my AZZ has a DO NOT ENTER sign on it!
from there you would have to wait for a letter from them
I believe rectal exams are only given to patients 30 and over, but I'm not sure. At the OB Gyn they say you become more at risk for rectal cancer at that age so that is the reason for them. I'm not 30 or over, but my sister is and we both go to Northwestern for OB GYN and when she told me she received one (a rectal exam) and I hadn't I asked my OB doctor why and that is the response I was given. If that's not it, I have not a clue. I just hope I don't have to have one done
.
