Dr.Shayani (Medicaid Question)

Has anyone recently had the Lapband surgery with Dr. Shayani and Medicaid approved. I heard that Loyola Hospital is not a "Center Of Excellence" and Medicaid now requires it to be. I'm Very nervous now because all my pre-op test are coming up and I don't know if I should still do the tests if he is probably not going to be able to do the surgery. Jessica

Dr. Shayani performed my lapband November 2000. I had insurance, but after the surgery, when I had to go get adjustments, I had medicaid and it paid for all of it. I went for about 20 adjustments and medicaid paid. By the way, Dr. Shayani is wonderful. Tell him Joannie Pedigo says hello. He knows who I am. I was the first patient to get pregnant after the lapband. Loyola is great . Keep in touch.
