BSBS OF Illinois PPO In Network Surgeons

Hi, Does anyone who has BCBS of IL, PPO, know of a list of in network surgeons. I saw a doctor who is great, was listed on the BSBS site, but is not an in network doc. My out of network pays at 50% I am in Chicago. Any info would be greastly appreciated. Thanks Mary

Mary, sometimes a doctor will not be in network for any insurance, it is hard to explain. Take for example when I had my surgery with Jeff Rosen at the WISH Center in Downers the WISH Center was not in network for ANY insurance. Though he was listed as an in network doc for my PPO with my BCBS of IL insurance with my employer. This was because he was on staff at a couple of hospitals in the Downers area and if I had to see him on an emergency basis at one of those hospitals then I was covered for whatever I was there for. But, I was not covered in network for my surgery at WISH or with him there. Hope this makes sense to you.
