I asked about smoking and the lap band at Dr.Shayani`s Seminar in Chicago on April 10th.He said He would not tell a person they HAVE to quit smoking to get the surgery.BUT BUT BUT!!!! It is in YOUR best interest to quit.Because smoking can cause serious complications after the procedure and can slow healing.I`m Not sure of what "all" the complications are,So you should check it out.But I am doing my very best to quit because I did not come this far to have this surgery to screw it up from smoking.I`m still trying and it is so hard. And sometimes I feel like ripping someones head off for one.But I WILL NOT GIVE UP!!!!He also said the main thing he would be concearned about with drinking are the calories.Because a lot of people like fruity drinks and there are a lot of calories in them. And my lil .2cents worth is, It also depends on how much and how often you drink alcahol. And how much and how well your new smaller tummy can handle what you are putting into it!!! Each person is different but for me?I came this far to have this surgery done and I`m not taking any chances in messing it up. So good luck to all of you.One step closer to becoming a LOSERRRRRRRRRRR
