Topic: APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I found out yesterday that I was approved. My paperwork was submitted 7/19 and I got the call 7/26. It was the longest week of my life. I have Dr. Mattar and his office is supposed to be calling me with a surgery date within the next few days. Has anyone else had Dr. Mattar and how long did it take you to get a surgery date after approval? I have my pre-op testing this Friday. I never thought I would be so happy to have surgery! I could't stop crying after the phone call yesterday! I am ready for the new me!

I was told she IS doing the Revisions now!   Did her office tell you NO?   What about the Surgeons at St Francis Bariatric center?

Hope you are there and having a great time.  I really enjoyed meeting other folks that were going to be having surgery about the same time as me.  It is an exciting time. The beginning of the Journey.

Best wishes on your journey!! Take everything you hear today and commit it to memory!! The yellowsheet is your best friend. Do not even once try sugar after surgery to "see if you dump" it is like ciggerettes.. the first time can get you hooked. Come by here often for support there will always be someone here soon to give you a push, a hand up or a shoulder to cry on!!

See, I have also been told I could take NSAIDs from time to time by the surgeon.  I had to have foot surgery and they said it was okay.  But I just hear too much BAD stuff and don't want to end up with ulcers.  Also, I would be fine with my RNY if it weren't for the meds...and specifically the ones for my LUPUS.
I'm at an impasse and just feel like I may have to revise.  However, I've been told that Inman is not doing revisions so it looks like I'm gonna travel.

Topic: Clothing Exchange at Ohio OH Event???
Hello Friends,

We have had several requests for a clothing exchange in Cincinnati during the event.  In order to do this, I would have to give up a breakout room and use that for an exchange room.  Before I do this, would you post and let me see a show of hands so I can see if this is something you really want?  It would mean having three less speakers; we would still have 4 on main stage and 6 in breakouts.  Let me hear you! We want you to have the best experience ever!

Sincerely,
Kim

Dr Inman did my RNY and I have found her to be very helpful.  But I have Busitis and when I was in with her at one visit I told her that.  She said it is OK to take NSAIDS on occasion.  I took some ibuprofin very rarley, but it really helped.  Now I find I have 4 very large ulcers!  No more NSAIDS for me!

The post-op ban on NSAIDs is my only regret with my RNY.  But overall, I'm a happy camper.

On the other subject: I would trust Dr Inman with my life.  In fact, I have.  I would recommend her highly.  She may come off as abrupt but if you ask the questions, she will answer them.  Her skill as a surgeon is beyond reproach.
