Wow...an afternoon full of NSVs

Yesterday my boss threw a welcome home party for her husband who had been gone on an adventure in the antartic for 8 weeks.  At this party there were lots of people I hadn't seen in some time, and most recently no one since my post-fill weight loss.  Last weekend I bought a shirt that was just tight enough to look good without being too tight (which is an ALIEN concept to me!  All of my shirts used to be huge because I didn't want my curves to show).

Anyways, I can't tell you how many people came up to me to tell me how great I looked!  My boss' son pulled me aside and said, "Have I told you lately how GOOD you look?  I saw you across the room and I was just thinking that you look so good!"  It put such a HUGE smile on my face all day long.  Then someone else hugged me and she said, "Oh, you're so small!"  I'm not by any means small, but working towards it.  It was such a great afternoon.  Thats not even all of what I heard, it just kept coming.  I loved it, and I'm not one for attention, but I was soaking it up yesterday!

You may not be one for attention but it must have felt fantastic!! Well done! I think that one of the most exciting and memorable moments for me was when I met my doc's secretary. I had always made appointments by phone and so we had talked a lot but never met. I was about 12 months post-op when I went to the hospital during office hours and called in to thank her for all her help.

She looked at me when I introduced myself and said "OMG, but you're tiny!" And then went bright red and said  "I am so sorry, I shouldn't have made any comment like that!" But the fact that she wasn't supposed to have said it but that it just came out made it even more of a compliment!

Enjoy the compliments! You deserve them! Kate

Congrats, get used to the attention, it isn't going to stop there.....it is an adjustment for one not used to it, but you will continue to get it, and hopefully learn to love it.  I have become a complete.......well, I went to the other side and I am trying to come back to non-swollen head land.

You are doing great, you deserve it!!!
