xpost Poll-How much did you weigh at birth?

I posted this on the Main board, and its getting some interesting responses:

Just out of curiosity...this is something I have ALWAYS wondered. I was a preemie and was 2lbs 4oz when I was born and my mom had to buy me baby clothes from the toy department! LOL The drs said I wouldnt live thru the night

I was always the fat kid after that though. I was taller and heavier than all the other kids and i noticed this around 2nd grade. The summer before 6th grade, I grew two inches and reached 5'9" and was about 175+ pounds.

I was born in 1972 and always wondered if I was given some type of growth hormone or something. Ive tried to research this and didnt find much...I know two other people who were small...not as small as I was...but who are taller and heavier.

I was born in 1968 weighing in at 7lbs 6oz and I was 19 1/2 inches long!

I have always been overweight, every day of my 41 plus years.  Some days I was closer to being at a normal weight than others but for the most part not!

 I was a premie, too..but not as tiny as you were!  I was 5lb, 6oz.  I don't talk to my birth mom much.  She isn't part of my life.  My dad doesn't remember much from when I was a baby.  I do know that my lungs were not developed, I had reflux, and should have stayed in the hospital but they let me go home because my dad was a doc at the hospital.  (it is all i could get out of my mom)

I was pretty normal sized until I was in 3rd grade.  then I got fat over the summer.  I don't know what I did wrong or what really happened.  it sucked, though!

I was born in 1977. I weighed 8lbs 10oz. I was thin my whole life, in fact boney as a child. I didnt start really gaining until I was 21 and got the depo provera shot for birth control which I truly believe started the hormonal spiral I got on and never got off with PCOS. It may sound like an excuse but I attribute my weight issues for the most part to that, though my mom and sister do not have it and are also heavy. They however have very different builds and always had weight problems from childhood.

I was 7 weeks early. weighed 4 lbs and 11 oz.    I never thought about if they gave me hormones when I was born. I stayed in the hospital for a month. I was born in 1981. Let me know if you find anything out.

I was chubby most of my life but not obese until I was about 21 and my parents went through a divorce and I turned to food a lot.

1973 6lbs and not sure of ozs

1978- I was 6 lb 6oz... but my mom couldn't produce milk and was desperate to breast feed so I went down pretty rapidly from that..

My mom thinks my weight could be attributed to my Scarlett O'Hara syndrome... when she was starving me I vowed to "never be hungry again"... funny it's my favorite movie.

November  , 1972 ..i was 10 lbs 13 0z ! unreal right..they told my mom i was twins ..i was supposed to be born on Oct 31 ....now my brother who is 6 '5 270 pounds(big boy) was only 7 lbs ....who was born on november  1973...we are the same age for 3 days ...we were both c sectioned ....I am 5 ft 5 and 1/2
