What do you do with unflavored protein mix?

I bought a container of unflavored protein mix, not realizing that unflavored doesn't mean that it has no flavor...  It tastes disgusting!

How can I use it without ruining the taste of anything I put it into?

It works best in savory foods - soups, stews, etc. Be careful that they're not steaming hot when you put it in - if it gets above 130 degrees it's clump city. My rule of thumb is literally "not steaming". At that point it's safe to put the powder in.

So the idea is that the savory taste of the soup will overcome the taste of the shake?

Yep. I find savory flavors hide it best. Just my experience.

I put it in all kinds of things, like chili or soup or some sort of stew.  I don't make lasagna often but when I do, I mix unflavored protein powder in my cheese mixture.  It can go in about anything.  however, a whole scoop might be too much depending on how much food you are mixing it in.  If I add too much, it tastes different and also it changes the texture and it's gross.  If the taste is bothering you, you might want to try mixing it in foods with strong flavors.  Like, it might be less noticable in spicy chili than in plain yogurt.

You can use it in protein drinks as well.

In the future though, I really recommend not buying a whole tub of protein until you've tasted a sample.

Newer post ops have taste issues--they think most things taste like .ss .  Many unflavored proteins have some flavor to them, and you may get "over" the taste issues in time.  I stumbled across an unflavored generic protein about 3 years ago.  I share this item with my support group members and they seem to be of the same opinon as I have--there is really no taste to this protein. I add this protein to oatmeal almost every day during winter months, add to SF pudding for a treat once in a while, etc. DAVE

It won't ruin the taste of something with a strong flavor to begin with - whatever you mix it into just has to have a stronger flavor than the protein. I have mixed unflavored protein powder into hot chocolate (if I use a packet of hot chocolate mix instead of just using chocolate protein powder) and in homemade chai tea lattes.

I ended up doing the same thing one time years ago, and what I ended up doing was mixing it with ice and a sugar free flavored pudding mix and putting it in the blender to make a milkshake so to speak, along with silk because since my surgery I am lactose intollerant. But now I love the taste of Silk..  Now I make protein milk shakes every morning. with a banana or berries and two table spoons of sugar free pudding *usually vanilla* to get the best berry or banana flavor.  You can even put in a package of the sugar free choc. protein mix and the sugar free pudding and ice and a cup of silk.
