caffeine
So as of Monday I have not had any caffeine. I decided to quit early and get the headaches overwith. I think it has kinda affected my mood though. I can't seem to shake it. I went for a walk today with my little one with hopes that it might boost my spirits. I came home and put her down for a nap and took one myself. I should be energized and enjoying this weather. This is not like me at all. I LOVE spring and I just can't seem to get out of my own way. Maybe I quit a little too early. I really miss my cup and half of coffee and decaf stinks. Sorry for the mood, just venting I guess. Hope you girls are having a great day. RUTH, be careful....don't over do it. Jus****ching out for you....

thank you Keela, I just wanted to say, I also loved my caffine and I weened off from it. Instead of reg. coffee I did 1/2 and 1/2 caffine and decafe but also 1 cup instead of 2, did that for a few weeks then slowely added more decaf, I got used to it. the worset was my pepsi, I dropped that down to one a day and caffine free, then slowely got over it. and now I have none, it took about a month, I didn't do cold turkey. I am having a worse time with no drinking with my meals... good luck to you, you can do it. thanks again, cheryl
Keela, your body will gradually adjust to no caffeine! Give it time, and as Cheryl said, maybe try weaning off instead going cold Turkey! It WILL get better! And no worries...I am doing fine, just sat through a great softball game (they WON!) and will go for a short walk in a few minutes! The gas is FINALLY getting outta here! WOOHOO! honks to you!!!!! Yup - Caffeine is an appetite stimulant and dehydrates you big time.
I went cold turkey after my initial consult (even before my nutrition class) - I gave up the carbonation at that point too. I knew how hard it would be for me (I drank probably a 2 litter of diet pepsi everyday) so I ust got it over with. I can tell you that I had my last diet pepsi (or anything with caffeine or carbonation) on July 12th. You'd think I'd be over the craving ... well, the caffeine addiction is way gone, but I STILL want a diet pepsi for that fizz!
I now drink a LOT of Decaf Crystal Light Iced Tea and TONS of Dunkin's Decaf iced coffee. I don't think I get through most days without one of those! LOL I get extra extra skim milk and splenda in mine and it is SO yummy!
You'll find something that will work as a substitute for you.... trust me though, the LAST thing you'll want to be dealing with is caffeine addiction towards the end of this process and post-op! You're going want to get this over with ASAP! Like today! It'll be hard for a week, I won't lie but we've all b een there and YOU CAN DO IT!!!! 














It was super hard for me too. But by increasing my protein at the same time I gave up the caffeine it eased the process It only took about 2 days of intense headaches. I was also told that something in the caffeine makes your chances of getting ulcers greater.Good Luck Keela your in my prayers I know how miserable those headaches can make you feel.
