Good Morning
Hi Ladies,
I am sooo tired this morning. My dgt. keeps getting up in the middle of the night to come sleep with me, but then I'M awake for hours. Did any of you gals have issues with not being able to sleep after WLS? Other than that this week has been interesting to say the least. I feel like I'm recovery quite quickly. Yesterday I walked a mile with my Dad. Not as quickly as I did before surgery, but faster than the 1/2 mile the day before! I don't feel as wiped out physically, but just tired because of lack of sleep. Also the head hunger in the past couple of days has been brutal. I keep praying for strength. I'm doing my best to get all my "meals" and fluids in, but haven't yet done that. I went grocery shopping yesterday and wanted to climb the walls. My after diet seems a little different from the rest of you RNYers. I'm on clear liq. for 7 days, full liq for 3-4 weeks, then purees, ground, soft, regular. It seems like an eternity until I'll be eating regular food. I'm not craving bad stuff, just chewing I guess. Also battling the old..." Did I do the right thing...Why was I too weak to lose weight any other way....what must people think of me..." I know these are negative thoughts and for the most part I do push them out of my mind. Guess I need more sleep then the world would be a brighter place. On a happier note...I've lost 10.2 since surgery a week ago today!!!! Please pray girls.....I NEED to get all my "meals" and fluids in today!!

what you are going thru is normal. i think we all went thru the phase of what the hell did i do to myself. i'm almost 3 months out and life couldn't be better. the first 6 weeks are tough. you have to learn how to use your pouch and what makes it happy. go slow. don't stress on getting all the requirements in. i couldn't do it for the first couple of weeks. i concentrated on protein shakes and sipping water. sf popsicles were a lifesaver too. a single popsicle counts as 4 oz. and a double popsicle counts as 8 oz. it is harder this way to lose weight this way but it was harder before for me. keeping it off seemed impossible. now i feel i can truly do it.
hang in there. you are completely on track and you've had a great weight loss so far. you'll be amazed how quick it comes off. i'm over 40 pounds down since february. one day at a time. if you feel like walking do so. if you feel like sleeping do that too. you will start to feel more like yourself in about a month.

Hi Keela!
Nice to see you back! Like Lisa said, I think it's all "normal"! It's really hard to get all the fluids and protein at first, but it DOES get easier! Your loss so far is great and walking too! Awesome! Keep your chin up..the liquid part is the toughest..it gets easier once you can chew stuff! SF popsicles are great!! The head hunger does get better with time too...just be strong! You can do it! hugs and honks Ruth
