Please let me know if you had a high BMI and how the process went for you.  I had a high BMI, I mean like close to 80 and was rejected (put on the slow track) at a local hospital here in Bangor, where I live.  I am now, 2 years from my attempt at my local hospital still gaining weight and beginning the process in Augusta with Dr. Huy Trieu...let me know your experience. My name is Bobbi Jo.. Thank you...I am just beginning again...

My BMI, when I started a year ago was allmost 67 I am now 57. I had no problem getting into Maine Medical Center Bariatric Program. I don't know if this helps at all, but I would like to wish you luck on your journey and don't give up, you can do it!!

Hi Bobbie Jo, welcome to the Maine Board.

I know there are some bumps in the road, hang in there - the right opportunity is out there for you.

My BMI was around 55 I think when I started, so perhaps I don't know everything you have to go through. I did find some issue with the program (not the surgeon, she was fabulous) with your local hospital.

Hi Bobbi Jo,

My BMI is over 60, not sure how much yet.  I am waiting for an appointment with my pcp to get a referral to EMMCs program.  Don't give up.  There is a right program for each of us.  I really believe this.
