I'm looking to have WLS just wondering if anyone here went through SPS. How did you like it? which surgery did you have? I liked what they had to say at the info session and they seem to try and make the process as seamless as possible.

I had my initial appt and it went well. One thing the dietician asked me what kind of surgery I was thinking about and I said I'm not sure yet, she said well we mostly do RNY here. Is that really true?I was thinking about either RNY or VSG. Just wondering what some of you were told. I'm not anti-RNY ,just was suprised to hear that.

Yu both would be welcome at or South of the River group. We meet in Eagan at 35E and Yankee Doodle, every other week we meet at Panera by Burnsville Mall. If you are interested I or another from the group will give more specific details. (like 8:30 AM-10 or so) next Saturday will be at Burnsville. We have RNY VSG and DS in the group. Our goal is long term success and mutual support. Love to see you.

Topic: a little H Pylori

SO I had my last appointment today and found out i am positive for the stomach bacteria! I am working with PNC and things have been outstanding. The bariactric doctor said this is a simple treatment of antibiotics and while I am waiting for insurance, I can receive treatment and be ready once the decision is made.

They were also very receptive to my request to fastrack the process. I am a teacher and it is imperative that I get the procedure prior to school starting or I wll need to wait until Christmas break! NOOOOOoooo. SO they are going to see if they can submit next week...be sleeved before school starts!!!

Funny you mention the surgeons having a group... I just checked my email and found an email inviting me to attend a support group through my nut! HA.

Topic: Horrible cramps!!

So its happened once before BUT yesterday it happened again, after I ate some shrimp (maybe a cup cooked)I had the worst stomach cramps EVER! Like I ate a rock.
I have found that some GasX helps.

Now I'm eating some chicken salad with very little mayo and crumbled up bacon and suddenly had the same feeling.

Anyone else experience this? Explanations?

Began my journey in 2008 at 246#....lost 111#...have regaind about 35#'s of which I am currently trying to rectify!

I see you and latrice are both through st paul surgeons. call them and ask them about their support groups. or visit their website. i know they have them! I am too far to attend but i have been told about the groups. Good luck!!
