Oooh, do the Torchlight, Kim. It'll be fun!
How about the Apple Valley race on the 4th of July? There is a 2 mile race--nice distance for starting out and it's cheap. I think it might still be $7 if you don't want the t-shirt. There's a 5-miler, too, I'm doing that one. Not sure I'm ready for a 5-mile race, but I'm going to take it easy.

Congrats! Yes, join us for coffee soon- it's a great, informal group. All surgeries, all stages welcome. I'm a sleever myself. :)
Walking is the only thing that'll work the gas out besides time. You'll get through it!

Topic: RE: Day 1 3-days OR Day 3 3-days...?
well, if anyone was curious...
I've decided (now on Day 4) to still basically eat like its Day 3. It just went well for me yesterday and I figured "why not". Day 4 ain't that much different anyways. So the only thing is I might make a salmon pattie instead of a tuna pattie for dinner tonight.
I've been really watching the liquid intake rule - no drink 30min's before, during or after a meal. That to me has GOT to be the HARDEST part of it all! LOL And when I can drink I am now drinking way more liquids (mostly crystal light) and boy! am I flushing out those toxins!!
I've lost 4#'s so far and started on Monday!!! I'm SO happy and feel better. I can see my tummy is less bloated already and the tightness is definitely coming back to my pouch. It's a great old familiar feeling!

There is a WLS group that meets for coffee every Saturday morning. It alternates from Eagan to Burnsville. This weekend it is at Burnsville Panera in the Burnsville Mall area right off of County 42.
Next weekend it will be in Egan at the Caribou inside of Byerly's in the Northeast corner off of I35E and Yankee Doodle Road, we all have had or some are going to have surgery. There are RNY people, sleeve people, and even DS (duodenal switch) people. You're always welcome. At Burnsville we usually sit just inside the door by the low wall. In Egan we usually have several tables pulled together. Just ask us if we're the "South of the River group".

Topic: Newly Sleeved
Hi Everyone!
My name is Gretchen. I was just sleeved 6/26 by Dr. Ikramuddin at the U of M. Everything went perfectly and I even came home yesterday one day post op. Does anyone know roughly how long these gas pains hang around? Or is there anything I can take? Yikes, they are brutal.
I live in South Minneapolis, would love to join some sort of WLS group.
Thank you,
Gretchen

Hi attended the meeting last week as well and I dropped my forms off last friday and I have my first three hour appointment tomorrow! I am fasting tonight for labs at 8:30am then three docs, nurse, bariatrician, and shrink. My goal is to decide which surgery and have it before Sept 1, 2012!
