I live between Red Wing and Hastings, what's your question.   Been off for awhile with all the end of year school, graduation things.

scrambled eggs with fresh spinnach. scrambled in virgin olive oil. it really adds some flavor.
or the above idea and add in a pita or multi grain tortilla and make it a wrap. ricotta cheese is yummy on the wraps as well.
try different meats with your scrambled eggs or wraps

whole grain or multigrain oatmeal. sweatened with whatever you choose. add in fresh blueberries and strawberries. or bananas are a yummy extra as well. i know the protein is not that high in this option but you can add in some protein mix if you wish or a protein shake.

you said you cannot do most cereals. try what cereal you can have mixed with fruit and vanilla yogurt.

crepes (the thin pancakes) with strawberry cream cheese and fresh strawberries or bananas.

I am reading this for the first time now but it would depend on which type of surgery you were going to have. Mpls. Bariatrics now has surgeons that are doing the duodenal switch (DS) wich is the most effective weight loss surgery out there. That is the only clinic other that the U of M that offers that option. They have just started doing it so they don't have a lot of experience but, the DS is far superior to the RNY. I had it done8.5 years ago when I weighed 285 and I now weigh 110 with no regain. DS'ers malabsorb 80% of all the fat they eat so it is very difficult to regain weight.

I'm a patient of Dr. Buchwald. I had the duodenal switch (DS) 8.5 years ago and couldn't be happier! I started at 285 pounds and now weigh 110. I've never had any regain. The duodenal switch is the most effective weight loss surgery out there. People with this surgery only absorb about 20% of all the fat they eat so it is difficult to regain the weight once you've lost it. If you'd like more information, let me know. I facilitate the local DS support group and have a DS support group on facebook as well. If you're on facebook and would like to friend me, I'm Tammy Erickson Simmon.

I'd been maintaining, but am officially up a bit now to a place I'm not comfortable with.  I'm going to try to be better about tracking on myfitnesspal and sticking to my c25k workouts this week.  Grazing is my number one problem and being home for the summer now is NOT helping...

Elena...CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Wow!

Connie...tell me more! what all did you do to lose 21#'s?!? That's freakin' awesome! I am getting SO anxious to detox next week, I am starting to feel crappier everyday in lue of it. LoL

My plan for the moment is to drink Unjury protein shakes for bfast & lunch (and as needed in between)Basically stick to the Day 1 & 2 plan of the 5 DPT (cream/broth soups, sf pudding, proten shakes, etc.)...and maybe even for up to 4-days if I can stand it. And if my body can handle it excercise daily...even if its just a short walk.

I just hope I'm not psyching myself up to fail...
Began my journey in 2008 at 246#....lost 111#...have regaind about 35#'s of which I am currently trying to rectify!
