Topic: Early summer weigh-in: are you ready for bathing suit season?
Okay, that's a joke, because I am never ready for bathing suit season.  I have way too much skin to be comfortable in spandex, but you know what?  IDK, I'm going to hang out at the pool anyway!  I have worked too hard to get this smaller body, I want to show it off, wrinkly skin and all.

Paying attention to the late-night snacking has paid off for me this week.  It also helped that I am ramping up my exercise again.  Got the bike back from the shop and I'm adding cycling workouts in with the runs.  Starting tomorrow I will be adding lap swimming, too.  My first triathlon is only a month away, yikes!!

Starting weight:  298.4
Last week: 142.5
This week: 139.9 (I was 138.9 after my run this morning, but I better count the earlier weight, LOL)
Loss of 2.6 lbs this week

Paul, I don't know if you are back from Wisconsin yet.  You may not be able to log your miles, but if so, I did 15.7 miles running last week, plus another 13.6 on the bike and 3.7 on the elliptical.

Report in, everybody.  What are you doing right?  What do you need to concentrate on this week?  It's a never-ending battle...

Congratulations!  Tomorrow is surgery day, we'll be thinking about you and making room for you on the loser's bench.

Topic: RE: Breakfast ideas
I'm pretty boring with breakfast, too.  I tend to eat more carbs than most WLS patients, but I am usually having breakfast after my run, so I need to reload carbs.  Most days it is either Kashi Go Lean cereal with soy milk and half a banana sliced on top, or a bagel with peanut butter on it.

I like eggs/omelets etc. but I don't spend time making them on weekdays.   I probably should to get more protein.  Thanks for the ideas!

Topic: Park Nicollet Bariatric
Hey all. I am thinking I might go with Park Nicollet Bariatric for my WLS journey. I am registered to go to the required information seminar on Tuesday.

Has anyone used them? What is the process like for getting a surgery consult? How long did it take to get surgery scheduled? What was your overall experience like?

Thanks!

I have started my journey to WLS and had my consultation with Dr. Buckwald. It went OK, I have heard a lot of positive feedback on him, the only thing, is I felt like he was doing a pre. rehearsed script when I had my consultation. Not a bad thing, but didn't leave me feeling like it was "about me". Has any body else felt this way? Also, I am trying to decide between the RNY and the sleeve. Any comments on why you chose one over the other would be helpful.

We meet every Saturday morning at 8:30 AM alternating between Eagan Caribou located inside Byerlys and the Burnsville Panera at Burnsville Center. Tomorrow is Panera in Burnsville.  It's easy to get involved. You just have to show up! =)

I was leaning toward Dr. Laguna, so it's nice to hear from someone with firsthand experience.  I am very interested in finding a support group.  How do I go about getting involved with the South of the River group?

I eat greek yogurt weekdays too. I sprinkle Trader Joe's Gluten Free Granola on it. There are two kinds: Loaded Fruit and Nut, and Cranberry Maple Nut. I like them both!
I also have made the breakfast muffins. I used a carton of egg beaters and whatever ingredients I had in the house. I made some with diced ham, and some with chorizo sausage and fresh veggies and cheese. They froze well and tasted great. One muffin held me well until lunch!
On the weekends sometime I get a McDonalds sausage burrito for breakfast. It's great with one packet of picante. One burrito is 300 calories and 12g protien.
I welcome new ideas as well. =)
