Welcome back Dee!! I don't remember you, but you may have dropped out before I joined. I live on the other side of Missouri. I had RNY 7/8/08 and what a blessing. I have lost about 70 lbs. and mainted that loss since August 2009. I still need to lose 20 or 30 lbs., and I'm working on it. Being able to shop for clothes anywhere is great and I have so much more energy.

Good job on the weight loss, but you really need to get in your protein requirements daily as well as your vitamins. I didn't like all the calcium tablets, so I got a jar of calcium crystals which I add to my shakes and the raspberry chews.....love them. I get these from Bariatric Advantage and get auto ship so no shipping charges.
I was tired of the shakes I was having so I got a can of Unjury chocolatre. Customers were saying it's good in milk and tastes like chocolate milk without the smell that some powders have. I like it and it's a change. It also makes good hot chocolate.

I highly recommend Dr. Price. He has been doing WLS for years. He did my RNY 2 1/2 years ago. I don't anything about the Sleeve and he didn't recommend the band for me.
I have absolutely no regrets at having the surgery.

Topic: WLS St Robert, Waynesville & FLW Mtg for Jan 6 CXL'd
Just a note that the WLS support group meeting we hold the 1st Thursday of each month on Ft Leonard Wood at Army Community Service has been cancelled this week.
ACS has cancelled all classes for the next 3 weeks as they are the center for relief services to those affected by the tornado on New Years eve.
Our meetings will resume in Feb as planned on the 3rd of Feb @ 6 pm at Army Community Service Bldg 486.
We will still be holding our meeting at the Pulaski County Public Library in Waynesville on the 15th of Jan at 9 am. Hope to see you then.

No offense taken at all Jan. You know I was having lots of trouble with the shakes so I'm trying to get all my protein from the foods alone - that has been tough, but I think I'm about there now. Will concentrate on the vitamins this week. I sure don't want to mess this up - it's just I get lazy and don't want to force myself to do the vitamins because they're sometimes icky.

just remember they are NOT a suggestion they are somthing you HAVE to do for the rest of your life...there was a guy i know of just recently that didnt take his and didnt eat right and didnt take in enough protein and he died and i can tell you more than one that this has happened to. you have to be healthy....not skin and bones. you are doing great on your weight loss just remember to be healthy too. dont mean this to be a meannie post just always concerned for everyone. i guess i think i am everyones mom lol ....

Hey there girlies! I've been out for a week with DH's family. Hope ya'll are doing well! Have reached 197 this week, so I'm pretty good on the weight loss part and doing poorly on supplements. But I will do better this week.

Hardly anything here in St Peters...we went to the basement though when the sirens sounded. Feel terrible for those who have lost loved ones and property.

I am from St Louis area! I had my RNY with Dr De La Torre Dec 09 when he was still doing surgeries in STL. I stopped going to support group here although I may start going again soon and give it another whirl! I go to the SSM De Paul one. All are welcome even if you had surgery elsewhere!
Would love to meet up with some other WLS peeps here in STL.
