loss of 130 has cleared of most of my co-morbidities and i FEEL WELL. I'M 68 years old.
YOU MUST PAY ATTENTION TO THE POLITICS OF THE STATE AND VOTE ACCORDINLY>
Today, I read that Missouri received money from Federal Gov. for extended benefits so people can pay rent, electric food and meds. Missouri Republicans voted to withhold that money so the
already POOR PEOPLE of this State will not only be poor but destitute. We're retired and have
saved money to fill in for our social security monthly checks. We paid ss taxes all our working
lives so now it is a blessing. I am so sorry for all those folks not old enough to retire who also
cannot find jobs. The State of Missouri will keep the federal money in it's coffers while it's
people it was meant or go hungry, without meds and absolutely daily needs. This is so
unfair since they have give so many benefits to large companies while the people who pay
taxes are going without like in the depression. At some point, there will be so many people
out of work and not needing to pay taxes that the State of Missouri will again be in a money
crunch. THen where will they look. YOU GUESSED IT< BACK TO THE FEDERAL GOV.
IF YOU VOTE REPUBLICAN< THEN YOU ARE GIVING A SIGNAL THAT YOU APPROVE OF
POOR PEOPLE STARVING IN OUR COUNTRY> IF YOU DO VOTE THAT WAY<
THEN SHAME ON YOU AND MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOUL.
I had over half of my thryoid removed 8 mos after my rny. It took a year before my levels were back to a normal level, and even before I had my thyroidectomy I had issues getting it at a normal level because of the RNY. Give it time and see if it levels out.
My next question, you say you are losing inches but have gained weight. Are you exercising more, because muscle weighs more than fat and takes less space. So if this is the case you are at least gaining the right kind of weight. If I remember right when I went through the class for my surgery they had mentioned you may gain if you are exercising and werent before for this reason but that it will level out.
I also have seen an endocrinologist, they mentioned that some people can not have their levels checked every 6 weeks, that sometimes it takes a persons body longer to level out after a dosage change. She had my PCM change to every 12 weeks for my dosage changes. I would also have them check your T3 adn T4 levels in addition to your TSH. My PCM wanted to lower my dosage but I could tell an immediate difference in how I felt, I become more lethargic, instantly started swelling and gaining weight, had issues sleeping and so on. I changed PCM's at that point becuase despite the fact that I explained to him many times that my body was no longer textbook and that I had been on the synthroid for over 5 yrs (hypothyroidism) I could tell I wasnt on the right dose and wanted to feel human again. My new PCM switched my medication level back to where I felt right and monitors it well. We had to come to a conclusion, no I am not a Dr. however I live in this body and know when it is out of whack and when it isnt despite what his book says and I at least want him to listen to me and explain to me what is going on before he dismisses everything I say and I will do the same for him. So far it has worked wonderfully!
One bit of warning the endo. told me, because you are on synthroid and have had WLS your chances of osteoporosis are increased. Just be aware of that.
Praying things start to level out for you be sure your Dr is your advocate, if they arent willing to at least listen and explain then find a new one you pay their salary they work for you and should be able to at minimum do that. (which is why I think Dr. H is so fabulous, he truly understands patient care and listens wonderfully).
Good luck to you, I hope things work out soon.

The protein shakes are good, just make sure they don't have too much sugar. I'm a big fan of Click but it's not high in protein. I only use 1 scoop added to milk. Sometimes I add a scoop of Isopure or Unjury to boost the protein.
Fortunately, pasta does not go down well for me. I can eat ravioli, but spaghetti or macaroni can make me miserable. Rice is really nasty to me. Sugar makes me sick too. I tried cake twice and both times the icing made me sick. The cake didn't taste that good either. My tastes have changed a lot.
Good luck!! Take care. You definitely don't want to gain the weight back.

Jan what will we do without you.
Uncle Sam is killing me this year on taxes, I am thinking another country might be a smart move. I can't wait to hear more about your new home.
Come on Mo. we need more people posting on here. Share what's happening with you and maybe we can all help each other.

Don't faint but I'm actually going to post on here today! To tell you the truth I've been so busy that I hadn't checked the Board for almost a week!
David got a job with GRAINGER!! We are so thankful! His tentative start date is April 11, 2011. We found out last Friday just a few hours before we left for our "Weekend To Remember" christian marriage conference. It is sponsored by Family Life and was in Overland Park. We booked a hotel room for two nights. This was our first christian marriage conference but it will not be our last! I cannot tell you how WONDERFUL the entire weekend was! David and I had a great time getting to know each other again and asking the Lord to bless our marriage so we can leave a legacy for Him and His Kingdom!
For those of you who aren't aware of it, my husband, David, has been without a "regular" job since November 2008. He has been working as an independent contractor since August 2009. That job will be ending in about 3 weeks. It's no coincidence that the Lord provided this job at this time and the fact that we found out just a few hours before we were going away for the weekend. It has been a hard 2 1/2 years. It'll still be hard because gas is so expensive and the job is in KC, MO. The hope is that within 6 months he can be transferred to the Lenexa branch. Grainger has great benefits! Our health/dental/life insurance begin the FIRST day he starts!! All I can say is "GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME. ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD!"
My Microsoft Office 2010 class at JCCC is going well. So far I have A+ but I had the first part of my first exam yesterday and will have part 2 tomorrow - I am as prepared as I ever will be! We are really behind because we missed like 3 snow days at the beginning of the semester. I have a feeling we're going to be working our "butts off" to try and catch up by the end of the year. We will see.
Update of Paul - Bec told me yesterday that Paul has decided to keep trying the chemo. Please pray for them both. It breaks my heart to see her and him go thru this awful thing called cancer. Apparently, he did have some bad reaction with the 2nd round of chemo but he woke up yesterday morning and ate a good breakfast - that is a positive sign. Please pray for their family's peace during this time.
Mama Jan - I would really like to actually come visit with you before you leave to your new home!! Do you think that would be possible? Maybe some of the others who live by me would like to ride either to your house or meet you somewhere. When are you actually moving? When would be a good time. Would be better for me after my class is completed - which will be the end of May.
How is Brenda Nutt? I've been praying for her and her family as well. Haven't checked the website Randy set up for her in a week as well. I hope she has a complete recovery.
Hope everyone is doing well. Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. Love you all and hope to get to see some of you soon!

they went a bought a pallet of rocks to outline the bed and it was 70ft around...they had enough to make two rounds all the way around and to make another bed for them to fill with flowers....but will have to fill it with dirt first. told her that if she wants to be cheaper. she can use flower seeds instead of plants ...they will come up quickly down here if she keeps them moist for the first 7 to 10 days.....
anyway we are really enjoying seeing and watching her new baby colt....he is such a big boy and so pretty....muscles like i have never seen on a new baby....and so so long legged...i ask her if he had extra long legs and she said he did. was probably going to be a really big horse, that his daddy was a really big horse....his name is Streaker ...lol something to do with his dads name..

I really appreciate your ideas on dining out too.
I've been trying to eat on kind of a schedule so I don't let myself get too hungry and make poor choices. I've also eliminated sugar from my diet. (Was having way too much of that) I'm feeling better because of that and the increased protein. I'm eating small amounts every few hours.
Thanks again for your post.
