OK friends I need help.....  Did any of you have issues with your period after surgery???? Its been since the end of April since my last Period.  After surgery they tried me on birthcontrol and the dr 6 weeks later took it away.  I have problems with it and he wont even do the IUD with me.  So I am left the old fashion way!!!!  I have taken 3 home test all negative and I seen the dr yesterday we went ahead and waiting on blood test results.  I am PRAYING that its just my body adjusting after surgery.  Dont get me wrong, we do want another one we just want to wait until I get the approval to do so.  I wont know the results of the blood test til probably monday... gonna be a long weekend at my house!!!!!!

Hey there! I know I'm only a little over a week out, but the surgery kicked off a period for me the day I got home from the hospital. I remember them telling me prior to surgery that it would cause you to get more regular and actually ovulate monthly like our bodies are supposed to. I guess I don't really have an answer for you at all. Sorry. Just know I'm praying for you! I wish you the best...hope you get a phone call today with results. If not, I'll pray for the weekend to FLY by! Liz

I am sure that it is just your body adjusting.  I have the IUD and havent had a cycle in 6 months, but right after surgery I spotted awhile.

Everybody seems to react differently, though others have said on the main board that it's heavier. I can't help since I had a hysterectomy (yay!) in 2004.

When I had my RNY back in 2004, It kick started my period off like you would not believe and I was more regular than I'd been in a LONG time.  I went on the ortho-evra patch and I got pregnant at 7 mos out of my RNY, though.  I'm not exactly the "wait 18 mos" poster child. lol.  But I've done very well at maintaining my weight over the last 4 years, if that is any comfort.  I hope you get the result you want (and it sounds like you want a big fat negative).  Fingers crossed for you!

I have had a similar problem. I had my period 3 time in the first 5 weeks after my surgery and I was on birth control. My reproductive endocrinologist wants me to be on it indefinately. I finally called my GYN and he suggested trying the Nuva Ring.  I didn't have a period after the first cycle but had a negative pregnancy test. I'm going to try it for another month before I try something else. My husband thinks it would be funny if I got pregnant since I had to have fertility treatments to have my two kiddos. I don't think it's funny. I was miserable in my last pregnancy. I'm sorry I don't have any real answers for you but to say I understand the frustration.

8 pounds to my goal!

If you have negative urine pregnancy tests then your chances of actually being preggo are really low.  I was an OB nurse for a couple of years and I do know that if your not eating a proper diet it will definately effect your period.  Every BODY is different.  You could even go a few months without having a period.  I will be thinking about you....
