Well I was not self pay I had insurance that paid for it thank the Lord.  But I had no trouble with Oklahoma Weight Loss Options.  Both doctors are great and they do give you alot of info to prepare you before and after.  www.owlo.com

I'm sorry....but...you can do a lot of driving for $15,000 difference between your $30,000 and my $15,000....  I just had to give you a hard time.  I'm guessing you had the lap RNY also???  It was so worth it for both of us I know...life saving, changing procedures!  I'd do it again in a New York Minute.  Debbie

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

OK so I just have to chime in and say I was very impressed with Weight Wise in Edmond.  I am self pay and while I have not had the surgery yet I have done considerable research and been to other bariatric professionals and would not go anywhere else at this point.  I am a medical professional and will also refer anyone and everyone I can to the Edmond program.  He did say the sleeve cost would go up after July1 but if you attend the June seminars you get the 9995 price for the sleeve as long as you have surgery by December.  Just FYI!  The bypass was listed at 14995... Good luck!

I feel that all the surgeons in OK that perform bariatric surgeries are excellent! There has only been one report from Luckygirl17 about her mom's surgeon that was a bad result, but I don't remember that surgeon's name.

I have wonderful things to say about Dr. Nelson and OWLO, but they aren't the cheapest for private pay since they don't own the hospital and have no control over the hospital fees. However, you will lack for nothing and the care from pre-op through long term post-op follow up is outstanding. They are also a recognized Bariatric Center of Excellence as determined by the ASBS.

I believe WeightWise in Edmond is the most economical for self pays. Everyone has only good things to say about their surgeons, too.

Integris in OKC has a great program, too with Dr. Gornichec.

The Tulsa area has multiple excellent surgeons and programs, too!

There are multiple surgeons, facilities, and programs. I don't think you'll go wrong with whatever choice you make. Good Luck!

Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

I am a big fan of www.OWLO.com. The doctors there have a great pre-op program that ensures their patients have the best knowledge concerning their choice of surgery. I would not say that WW is not as good or their surgeons are better just check out all the different surgeons. The biggest fees are not the surgeons but the hospital so I would call and ask if they give discounts. Good luck to you!

being healthy has its rewards....take the challenge and just do it

take a look at www.surgicalassoc.com they are great about helping you with the prices. They let me know what hospital to request because the other hosp. charges alot more. I am going to use dr. katsis and go to oklahoma surgical hospital in tulsa. the doctors fee is 4500 and the hospital and anistiologist(sp?) are a bundle price of 8900. pretty good deal.  I am sure you will make the right choice for you.
