Very frustrated I just want to cry! Please Help!

Hi everyone, I am sorry I have not been on for a while I have been to busy having second thoughts and wondering why in the he** did I do this! I have been through alot but man am I just a woos or is this crap normal! You all seems so happy and cheerful which is great don't misunderstand me but my goodfriend Heather and I are going through he** is it because we had rny and not the sleeve and all we post about is the good stuff on here or are we just an exception to the rule? I am sorry if I offend anyone that is not my intention! Let me explain if anyone can help me please tell me! It started with having to stay in the hosp for 6 days that was ok could understand that, all was going well and then came the 2 week follow up still ok that was on thursday the 26th of june! Well all heck broke loose on mon nite and has not stopped but only gotten worse! I can not keep anything down I am throwing up everything including ice chip can't take the vitimins having trouble keeping down my heart pills throwing up when there isnt any thing in there I am so weak I can hardly hold my head up! I know I am dehydrated! I called the doctors office several times after getting mad as hell with them I got some suppositores that did not work cause I was of course bloced with my forth child in there sorry tmi but I need to vent! Don't get sick on a holiday weekend ! I call today and got the best care again lol. I get to have a scope tomorrow! Yea but why in the hell did it take me long to get help!! I am not blocked now passed the child or the brick I should say and now have the runs or I shoud say the dry heaves of both top and bottom! I  was eatting slowing drinking slowing doing everything I was supposed to do why is this happing any advice! As for Heather she will have to tell you her story but please  keep her in your prayers also! I am so sorry but I am at whits end! Karla

Karla, I am so sorry.  I have not had a difficult time physically but will admit to having buyers remorse once I got home from the hospital.  Each day is getting better for me.  I hope and pray that they will be able to find what the problem is with the scope and get you fixed. -Amy

Karla, I am so sorry you and Heather are having problems. At least you are getting scoped tomorrow. Sounds like you have a stricture and hopefully this will make you all better. The main thing is to keep going to the Dr. or calling them everyday if you have to . Just keep on top of it until you get better. Sounds like you probably should have had some fluids before now. I know that it is hard to stay positive when you feel so miserable. Things really should get better.  Don't give up til they do, okay. ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) Rita

Oh no!  It sounds like you have a stricture, which is not uncommon with the RNY for some.  If your MD is not returning your calls, you may want to go to the ER for fluids and so that they can check you out.  If it is a stricture, you will be dilated in a simple procedure, then you will be able to eat and drink normally.  In the meantime, until you can find out exactly what the issue is, if you want to try solids again, please take small bites and chew chew chew...did I mention CHEW?  I know it is hard, darlin, but it is VITAL that you get in fluids while you are playing the waiting game, so sip what you can, slowly...sometimes warm liquids go down a bit better than cold, btw. In the future, if in doubt, and you can't reach the MD, especially if you are dehydrated and that weak (as opposed to just a blah thing going on or general question), PLEASE go to the ER...even tho you have an appt tomorrow, if you get weaker, pass out, etc, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... I pray that everything goes well for you tomorrow and that the MD is able to make you feel like YOU again.  Please tell Heather she is in my thoughts as well.

Sorry to hear you arent feeling well... I had similar problems and had to take phenagran (sp?) for the first 6 weeks. I was throwing up water and heaving even when I hadnt eatten anything.  After time it finally passed.  And all has been well since then.  There was no real reason why just that I had a very pissy pouch!  Hang inthere it gets better and you will be super glad that you did it!

Karla ~ It also sounds to me as though you have a stricture.  I have had scopes since my RNY so hopefully you'll be feeling better after yours.  You and Heather will both be in my prayers and hopefully you'll start feeling better about the RNY soon.  I haven't always had it easy with mine, but it's still the best decision I ever made.  **hugs to you**

Karla, I'm so very sorry. I tried to call you this last few days but didn't get an answer. I have been worrying about you!

I have no idea why they aren't calling you back, but there's NO EXCUSE!!! Give them #$%@!!! I Know Sarah (the RN) and Abby (one of the registered dieticians) are having baby's soon. Maybe Sarah is on leave and the office is trying to fall apart, but goodness knows there are other nurses and staff out the ears up there! I'm glad you're getting scoped tomorrow and I'm sure they will give you fluids, too! If you fee you need fluids now, please go to the ER now!

Also, I know Dr. Nelson recommends Miralax as needed for constipation and in our notebooks it says to not go more than 2 days without a movement or call them pronto. They need to be reemed for not calling you back and they need to find out where the breakdown is in the system of getting calls answered!

I'm sorry, but it really sounds like you probably have a stricture .. not uncommon with RNYs. Please read Ruth's profile... she's been through something very similar. I think she had more than one scope before getting straightened out.

If you ever have trouble getting a call back again, please call me and I'll drive over to the office and get you called back!

Please let me know what happens tomorrow. Where are you having the scope done?

From the reading I've done in researching (studies of post RNY complications vs. VSG pot op complications) and here and on the RNY board, I do believe that RNY has a higher complication rate and is probably a rougher recovery. I will keep you in my prayers and if you want a visitor any time, please let me know. I'm going to PM you my phone numbers again.

Karla,  I am so sorry for your trouble. I can feel your pain and panic in your post. You have gotten some great advice here...so go with that. But let me add that the Dr's office needs a little "come to Jesus" meeting.  After you are better...make sure you have a straight talk with them. You are in my prayers tonight.

Karla - I am so sorry you are so sick and feeling miserable.  That just plain sucks!  There really is no excuse for your doctor's office not to call you back in a timely manner whether it's a holiday weekend or not.  Somebody is ALWAYS on call.  I hope and pray that they will find an answer for you tomorrow.  Please let us know what happens.  Also, I would never sugar coat anything to make people feel better.  I'm pretty straight forward.  I think you are getting the straight poop from people here.  (so to speak)  Hang in there.  You will get better!
