i finally got to eat my egg last night and i threw it up! what is up with that? i am so down this morning and now i'm afraid to eat anything. i so looked forward to that egg for 2 weeks and i couldn't even keep it down!?!?!? i have not done anything i wasn't supposed to do and now i can't even enjoy a freakin scrambled egg! that scrambled egg kept me going last week when i wanted something to eat so bad i could've eaten a horse i think. i guess i am going to try some string chees after i work out this morning and maybe some tuna or chicken salad. i hate to think i am only going to be able to eat cheese for the next week!! but at least it's something huh?

From reading the VSG board, it seems eggs don't sit well for lots of folks. Try something a bit smoother. Can you have some thinned refried beans with melted cheese? Those were heavenly when I got to mushies. Eggs went down well for me, but didn't sit as well as refried beans. If you continue throwing up, give your surgeon and dietician  a call. Don't let yourself get dehydrated.
Blessings and Best Wishes! Shelly

Well maybe it was just the fact your stomach isn't used to eating much of anything and couldn't take it or something.  Don't be so hard on yourself.  Maybe it was just not able to deal with it at that time of day or something.  So give it another go around at a later time.  i hope you're able to eat something that you can keep down that will satisfy your hunger.  Be glad, I feel like my hunger is going away all together.  i was rmaped up about my upcoming time to eat but now, i could care less.  Nothing sounds good but my current supply of water. See ya.. T.

Eggs sat way tooooo heavy in the pouch for me that soon, I stuck to jello, pudding and mashed potatos and not much of them at all either.  I have to tell you it is really tough in the beginning and I can't stress enough to the new people, to go slow, it is just head hunger, sometimes even now I can't do eggs and just need a protein shake.  This time of the year is also hard on the stomach, I think the heat is nauseating in itself!  slow slow slow, teeny tiny baby bites, use a baby spoon and count your bites, no more than 10 with the baby spoon and in a 20 min period, so a bite every 2 mins was how I did it, good luck. I was just like you.  Everyone just raved about eggs and that was the first thing I tried to eat when I could eat mushies.  I lost it also and then was afraid to eat for a while.  I tried to eat a "fried" egg in pam which the yolk medium and did better on it after a while.  I finally...3 months later...could eat a scrambled egg but ate really small bites and still could only eat about 1/2 of it.  I had one this morning and put some cheese and salsa on it and got in about 1/2 of it but didn't loose it.  That is about the only thing I consistantly will get sick on.  I guess they pack in or something, go figure.  I hear that it will get better.  Hang in there and enjoy your chicken salad.  I does get much much better and so worth it!!!  Debbie

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

It could be how they were prepared. I fixed mine with SIlk instead of milk at first because they said we could become Lactose Intolerant from the surgery. (I know the band is different). I broke 2 eggs and mixed in some Silk. Then I poured into a non-stick skillet and stirred. When they were nearly done I added cheese.  Let me tell you..they were ok..I ate more ff refried beans than anything else that wee****il I could finally have boiled eggs...LOOOOOOOOVE those. The key is to not give up, eat sloooooooooowly, and chew, chew, chew, chew. I can't stand the smell of tuna anymore so it's gone for good.

I am so sorry.  I have been dreaming about that egg too.  How much of it did you eat before you lost it?  I've heard people say that you can only eat 1/2 of an egg at most.  Did you cook it with milk?  Tell me how the cheese works.  I hope it will be better.

Scrambled eggs was the first thing I tried as well and could not keep it down.  Hang in there it will get better.  Try the refried beans with a little chesse on them.  I could do that and it was good.

Some folks have a hard time with eggs for a while.  You may have eaten too fast or too much also.  It may have had nothing to do with the egg.  I got the foamies last night for the first time on almonds (you can't have those yet!)  I have eaten almonds since I was allowed with no issues.  I am not sure if it was a quantity thing or more likely eating too fast.  Just remember the banana is always in control.  It is kind of like having an alien at the controls! You might try some cottage cheese.  If you don't like the flavor try adding some SF Jello to it.  I had actually forgotten that tric****il I read it on the VSG board yesterday.  I bought a brand my mouth doesn't like and will add Jello to it today. You have a steep learning curve ahead of you.  What works today may not work tomorrow or it may not work in the same quantity.  Just remember the sleeve wins everytime! Hang in there! Denise
