Thanks, Kim, for organizing last night's meet and greet. I had a great time, and those few bites of shaved turkey tasted oh so good! Even my husband, who is always reluctant to go to things where he doesn't know anyone, enjoyed himself. We rarely get out together without the kids so it was an extra nice treat. I can't wait for the next one!

Luanne, I want to apologize for being a no show-I really missed you in particular.  Maybe we can go catch a movie some time?

Ditto Kim!  My DH and I had a wonderful time.  We have such a fun group to get together.  I enjoyed meeting some of the new folks and their husbands as well.  It's always fun to be able to put names with faces.....

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

I just want to encourage everyone, especially new ops and pre ops, to join in.  Support groups are nice, but getting out in a social setting with people who have the same issues and concerns as you do, is priceless.

One of my most beloved friends is a 5 year out bandster, and she didn't have a group like we have here.  She has said many times it would have made a huge difference (she's successful at weight loss, but it was hard learning to go to social things).

How often do you get to have fun AND do something good for your psyche?

I always enjoy all of us getting together!  We are all so bonded on such a basic level that we have instant rapport.

No big deal to plan these things - it's easy!  We'll have to start thinking about a date for the August dinner.  We'll want to avoid Labor Day weekend since people will be out and about and too busy!  And we'll need to pick our next destination!

I was so happy to see you all and hope for an even bigger group next month!
