Hey, all you Okies Edmond way.
I'm heading to Edmond (from Kansas) around 11:30 this morning and just wondered if you could tell me how the interstate/other roads are. We've had about 3" of snow, but it doesn't look to be icy. How about you guys?
Thanks for any information you can give me.
Blessings,
Mary

Hi Mary.  I live East of Edmond about 29 miles.  I drive in to work about 6:00 a.m. every morning and this morning my wipers and defroster couldn't keep up with the slight mist that was falling and immediately freezing on the windshield and roads.   They had began sanding about the time I got to I-35 and on over to the Hefner Parkway but traffic was moving like a snail.  Be sure to check with the highway patrol before you leave home.  I think this stuff this morning was a surprise for everyone.....  (I just about fell on my bottome just walking for the car to my office door!!)  It's just a thin sheet of ice now and I don't think it's going to get above freezing today.  Of course the traffic will beat off some of the ice before you come unless it continues to fall.  Be careful!!

If you aren't having problems and it's just a re-check I'd consider re-scheduling.....just my opinion.

This is the ride of my life.....what an amazing tool I now have!!!

Thanks, Debbie.
I'll be sure to check with the highway patrol in an hour or so. It's my daughter's pre-op, so it's important that we get there. I know they are way busy, and I don't want them to give her surgery date away, as it's while she's on Christmas break (she's an elementary school teacher).
Thanks for the info.  Gee, I hope you didn't do damage to your back or backside, when you fell. You might want to get checked out.
Blessings,
Mary

Mary, it is really slick in area's here. Traffic is really slow all over but do-able. I'm on the West side of OKC and it's just started to get kinda bad here for some reason, but other area's are really bad, so it is a matter of choice as to what you do but just becareful!!

Call WW and ask them what people are saying who come in..

Good idea, Sherry.
I called the KS and then the OK highway patrol road conditions hot line, and it sounds worse on our end than on yours. OK, "slick in spots," and "be careful on bridges and overpasses."
Blessings,
Mary

Yes, but most Oklahomans don't drive worth a darn on anything but dry streets.  Good luck!

Yikes! Well, I've prayed for wisdom to know how far to go, if at all, and I'm praying for God's protection to surround our car.
Blessings,
Mary

Update....They just said that it is worsening up in the N part of the state  and towards Tulsa, with patchy freezy drizzle here in OKC. It may reach to 30 degree's by afternoon, but it's colder than a well diggers butt right now. Let us know what you do.

Hi, Sherry.
By the time we left, a bit before noon, the roads were really very good. We did get into a bit of freezing drizzle, but it didn't last very long, and our heater and wipers kept up quite well. It was a good trip, and we arrived early, in fact.
It was definitely cold, and we were so grateful for a heated car. Thank you for thinking of me.
Blessings,
Mary
