Ketosis Issues
There are some posts on here that seem to push for the High Protein diet and pushing towards Ketosis, so I just posted the facts about it...That's it. I am not saying anything is wrong with the diet, just to watch out for the things printed in the topic. Thats all!
I am glad you are doing so well and Welcome to the Board! Your views, thoughts, idea's are all welcome here.....I think anyone would agee wtih that! It makes no difference if you are preop, or post op, you are welcome and I'm sure have much to offer to the board...mostly experience and encouragement. Everyone needs that no matter what stage you are in....so welcome.

Sassy, this is not directed at you or anyone else. I posted this as it is vital information that must be included when considering this diet plan and I never see it posted. That is all this is meant to do and all I have ever wanted to do with this...proivide informational facts. Nothing else. I am not going into anything about T, but I will say that I can post just like anyone else on here and I will post from time to time these facts, so that no one ends up with a medical crisis. Surely you can't say there is anything wrong by posting medical information that may save someones life on this board?
You even said the information was good information to some other person on here..... so there should be no problem with people reading this and learning from it. Right? That is ALL it is meant to do or be. Nothing more!
Your remarks seemed in anger and I don't understand it and am sorry for that, because this is the ONLY issue I have ever had about the low carb diet....that this medical part needed to be put out there along with it. People can read and decide themselves. That's all..
"THIS and only this has ever been my problem with the "militant plan" that is being offered up on this board. " And we all know that there is only one person on this board with a militant plan. So that is kinda like flaming that person.
We can chock it up to a learning experience for us both. I love and value T's advice and militant or not, every piece of advice he has given me my dr has confirmed his advice is good. I would never try to get anyone to stop posting here that is not why i said what I said. Have a wonderful day
When this plan is posted I have no problem with it at all as I too know it can work.... I just want the other facts known to prevent problems and that is all....So I posted them. Just like diet plans can be posted, so can the medical issues with them. I mean is that so harmful to include those?
I'm not flaming anyone at all.... I am posting information and that is it. I do hope you will forgive me if it seems that way, but it is not at all.....It's no different than any warning for anyone. It is not meant to harm anyone, just create awareness to the topic.
Sorry if you took it any other way.

There's wisdom in the saying, "Too much of any good thing is bad." If we are "all or nothing" about pretty much anything, even in our diet, it's going to turn on us, eventually.
Wt. Wise's food plan would be considered low-carb, especially since we're told to "eat protein first, and then if there's room, eat vegetables and fruit." Sometimes there's no room, but one can be attentive to that and, if the only-room-for-protein lifestyle continues for more than a few days at a time, one can choose a good carb snack. Although, there again, we're told "3 meals and no snacking." Eventually, though, our tummies have more room, and then we can eat a healthy percentage of protein and good carbs and healthy fat.
I think the point is to avoid putting your body into ketosis for an extended period of time. Every now and then, to jumpstart your body, to get out of a stall, sounds harmless to me, but, I'm no doctor, nor am I a nutritionist. It's a good topic about which to visit with your nutritionist.
Thanks for sharing.

I know all too well about the "bathroom issues" that can come with protein first. I'm at the point where I take 3 bites of protein and 1 bite of vegetables, and it's heavenly! Before that it was, "Get out of my way! Where's the MiraLax?!" :)
