There's also a convention center, of course.

What all do you need to know, Kim?

Hi all, just wanted to mention that you will definately get members from Québec and maritime provinces to such an event. There are many surgeons practicing in Québec that have years of experience in the field. They could also be great ressource people.

Hi Kim

Well as the one (ok maybe now two ?) OH Certified Leaders in Atlantic Canada (Nova Scotia,New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland) - our four provinces travel to Montreal and Toronto for a lot of our self pay WLS.

I will toss in Dr Christou's name as an excellent renowned surgeon to speak - he is in Montreal and one of Canada's leading Bariatric Surgeons.

I will follow this with much interest that is for sure and hope to be able to spread the news of any announcement!

Personally I think that the location for a Canadian OH Event must remain central in order to accomodate as many Canadians and Americans as possible.

Thanks Kim for such a quick response

I think it would also be cool if Dr. Gagner spoke. [email protected] . He is an amazing surgeon *****cently relocated to Montreal and several Ontarians are having surgery with him.

Hi Kim, I know the ontario surgeons/centres have been mentioned. I also wanted to mention that a fair amount of us who had surgery 1+ years ago did go to the United States.

I would suggest also, having classes with the perspectives of the surgerons in Michigan and bordering states. I know Dr. Poplawski at Barix has done guest speaking in Ontario at support groups before. Ontario no longer will approve to send patients to Barix as they do now have ICU accomodations, but Dr. Pop doesn't hold too many hard feelings against thing.

I only mention this, as opinions from surgeons in Canada vs. surgeons in United states vary greatly. I would definately absorb information from both.

Wishing you the best with your research to hold the event here!  You have no idea how excited we are for this opportunity.

Really good idea, Katie.  I'm sure Dr. Graber would also be interested.

Thanks!
