discouraged - no referral sent

I agree with EricaFG she ha**** a homerun with it. Contact the Ombudsman and voice your concerns until you get a response and confirmation it has been received by the appropriate centre. There are clearly glitches in any system, but they can't do anything about it unless someone speaks up and says something.

Obviously getting through the growing pains of a new registry is painful for those of us who were eager to get started on the journey. After you make the decision, it would be nice if the surgery was immediate. Unfortunately that isn't even the case for back surgeries and even heart surgeries, in Ontario or elsewhere in Canada unless we want to pay even more in taxes or plead to our governments to eliminate the waste and put money into the actual priority areas. Today's federal budget is just as useless as ever from the Harper Conservative/Reform party.

I think that by all means you should contact the ombudsman.....tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Also, put in a call to your Dr and request an appt within 48 hrs to supervise his referral!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i did call my doctor today but they weren't in office, going to call them again tomorow and continue following up.

 I went through the whole thing of my referral being sent by fax on july 23 rd 2010..My doctor got the confirmation that the referral was sent..I received a letter in the mail september 3rd inviting me to a orientation november 1st..I went through all my appointments and tests..and I was waiting for them to send my stuff to hamilton to meet the surgeon..I was calling hamilton asking if they  have received my stuff and I was told no..well I called thunder bay to see what was going on and why they havent sent my stuff yet..and the guy there told me that my stuff wasnt sent because my referral wasnt received until october..well I freaked saying that they better check again because I know it was sent in July..He told me he would look into it and get right back to me...He contacted me the next day telling me I was correct..that they were working on writing a summary so they could send it to hamilton..So if I were any of you I would do like Erica says and look into that other post..or keep on them about your referral because its easy for there to be mess ups..I kept on them and i just met the surgeon on march 17th and now I'm waiting for a surgery date

well finally reached my doctor today, seems they sent my referral directly to TWH back in August who sent it back stating it had to be sent o the registry in February which meant another trip to the doctor during which I had to fill in a form that the doctor then promptly faxed to the registry.  Apparently now it seems the registry doesn't accept referrals by fax they want the referring doctor to sign up online and send it that way.  So my confusion and **** of point is people who had their referral sent in just before and in some cases just after me already have started the process and according to the doctor and the mix up with her, TWH, and the registry i am officially starting my trip this week, so 8 months lost which so doesn't impress me at all.  Sigh means i don't hit my biggest goal of having a good start on this by 40, later this year.  Ok enough complaining now i sit an wait like everyone else.
