Pains in my stomach is it my gallbladder?
For the last few days, I continue to have pains in my stomach. Mostly across my abodomen, sometimes in the middle, sometimes on the right side.
I have reverted back to soft foods and liquid mostly as it sometimes is worse after I eat but not always. Night time has been the worse, with the pains and nausea.
Other than that I have felt great, but now I don't know what it is. I am seeing my family doctor tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced these types of symptoms.
Looking for any advice anyones has.
Thanks.

My gallbladder gives me grief more in the evenings than earlier in the day. It usually starts as a burning sort of in the middle and then turns in to a stabbing pain which can be on the right, back and middle. I haven't been able to pin it down to any specific food but I am having it out on Tuesday. Hopefully you will figure out what it is soon!
Shadowruler, my worst gall bladder attack started with indigestion, just under my breast bone right in the middle..then it became almost unbearable!! It was the worst...the pain just never let up, it radiated around to my mid back...I honestly thot I was having a heart attack...I was sweaty, clamy...nothing helped....except a ride to the ER in an ambulance....had it out a month later with 4 more attacks before that happened, only I knew what was happening and my DH rushed me unstead...so nice to finally have it out!! Patti K. p.s. mine started after eating an apple!!
I've had gallbladder attacks in the past which have been as described by the others in posts above. However more recently I have had mild gallbladder discomfort which is similar to what you describe. I know it is my gallbladder because it is right under my ribs up near my liver and is tender if I put pressure on it. I've also been having intermittent pain in the middle of my abdomen right in between my ribs. Also sore to put pressure on it and causing my more discomfort when I eat. My surgeon thinks I may have a hernia and wants to do surgery to check for that. He also wants to take my gall bladder out. He said many gastric bypass patients in his experience, who have symptoms similar to mine find relief when they have their gallbladders removed, but that normal gallbladder tests would most likely come back negative.
My problem is that my surgeon is in the States and Canada won't pay for me to go there for surgery. But he doesn't think a general surgeon should do it because he won't be experienced with RNY anatomy and may not know what he is looking for. However I don't have much choice at this point. The local surgeon has just sent me for a CT scan and I go for an ultrasound next week. So I guess we'll see...
