Proceeding nicely, thank you!
For some reason, my guardian angel(s) have been looking out for me, in the journey to WLS.
After my referral going astray, it found its way to St. Joe's. My orientation was March 14, and then my first set of appts for June 10, but through a miracle, I got a call to fill in for a cancelled appointment. I saw the SW, Nurse and dietician on March 30. Today I had my ultrasound. Next week is my Internist.
Just now, I called the Sleep Disorders Clinic, where my GP sent a referral, to ask to be put on the cancellation list, only to be told that they could book me for April 18th! Otherwise, I would have had to wait until August to get that done at St. Joe's.
If all goes well, I should be ready for surgery soon - but I'm going to ask for a mid-June appt.
My message in all of this is to be an advocate for yourself. Don't sit around waiting, make a few calls and ask to be put on cancellation lists. Be polite but not pushy - put your name out front. And start making changes now. Stop drinking pop, caffeine, alcohol; stop smoking; watch your food intake and make changes; exercise (even if it's walking up and down the driveway or hallway). But most of all, think positively!
Good luck to you all.

Thanks for all the positive comments. I really am blessed in this, and I don't take it for granted. If something happens and I get bumped farther down the road, I'll be upset for sure, but I'll still be farther ahead than if I'd done nothing at all for myself.
Wendy, sorry it's too small. The last time I had it bigger, someone complained it was too big! Guess you can't please everyone. (I usually keep my screen size at 125% for just this purpose - I'm not getting any younger and neither are my eyes!)
