I have a question...I fell (again) two weeks ago this past Friday. I twisted my ankle after stepping in a depression in the lawn  : (. Anyway, it hurt for a day or so but then didn't.  Well now, about a week later, my ankle hurts and there is a pulsing/pressure kinda pain in my foot and leg as well as ankle. Is this just a sprain or is it possible it's a blood clot? Do blood clots always present with swelling and redness?

It sounds very much like a sprain to me, which often do take longer to heal (and in stranger ways) thank we expect. Having said that....... I am completely paranoid with regard to blood clots, due to personal history. Blood clots so not always present with redness, heat or swelling. If in doubt, PLEASE see a Dr. and get a dopler ultrasound.

Have you ever had your TSH checked?  I get mine checked all the time because my thyroid tends to run hyper instead of normal.  If yours runs hypo then these would all be classic symptoms.  I just had mine tested last month and it's running just below normal so I"m still in the hyper zone but a bit higher than it usually is.

I'm seeing my PCP in a week and a half - I will most def have to her do that test. Would certainly explain a lot of things for me if it were true.  If not.... one more thing to tick off the list. lol

Okay, I have a question about something that really bothers me and affects the way I live my life. It makes me think that being cold sounds great.  I'm so embarrassed by how much I sweat, especially my face and head. I went to see a dermatologist who says that it sounds like "Hyperhydrosis", which is basically excessive sweating. He told me that he could give me Botox injections on my head & face ( at a cost of $2000) but he couldn't guarantee that it would work because everyone's different, but others had found relief with the Botox. Now, I've always been told that being obese made you sweat a lot, so I don't know if I sweat so much because I'm fat or because I have a  Hyperhydrosis. I mean, this is sweating to the point where my hair and face are soaked - I don't even like to go out in public anymore because it's too embarrassing and I feel like everyone is staring at me. I've taken to wearing terrycloth sweatbands all the time but they don't help very much.

I'd just like to hear your thoughts on this. Have any of you "veterans" ever experienced this and did it stop once you lost your excess weight. Thanks for your input.

I've heard of that condition and your dermatologist may very well be right.  It will be interesting to see if it improves with weight loss.

Oh, boy, can I relate!  Before surgery I would always have tissue handy (year-round) because my face would literally drip sweat and my hair was usually pulled back because the sweaty hair didn't show so much that way.    the bigger I got, the worse the problem.

Well, now I just DON'T sweat.  Yesterday I spent 4 hrs cleaning out the garage on a day that was 15 degrees and bright sun without even "glowing".  thanks for asking this question because I just now realized what had happened, and now I have one more thing to appreciate about WLS.

big hugs

Thanks so much Mo - that is exactly what I was hoping to hear! I could never clean out the garage like you described - I'd be a puddle on the floor - LOL!  I'm so glad for you - what a wonderful change!
