Saw Surgeon today ... and GOT MY DATE!!

9:00 am, I was at St. Joe's filling in the most recent pre-op form.  Got to see Dr. Hong (nice guy).  And I picked up my 2 weeks of Optifast and other pre- and post-op meds.

(BTW:  CT Scan was fine.  It's a cyst on my liver.  No biggie.)

My surgery class is June 2nd @ 2pm.

Around 2:30 I got the call from Krista.  My surgery is Wed., June 29 @ 9am!!

YIPPIEEEEEEE!   

Also met a nice man and his wife from Mississauga.  He might just pop in here now and again.

I still don't get how this works, though.  My referral to registry was end of August, and still I've got nothing.  Still waiting for that darned teleconference call.  Getting a little *issed here!  But at least people are still being booked, so that's important.  I'm happy for everyone who gets a date - my turn will come eventually.

Hi Megan - which centre will you most likely be referred to? Every centre is a little different. Have you had any appointments yet? :)

I deal with the Thunder Bay assessment centre, and our surgeries are all done in Hamilton.  Things are a little different for us b/c we're so far away.  I've been through all the testing here in Thunder Bay, my file is in Hamilton - just waiting for a teleconference with the surgeon, then get my date.  So near and yet so far away.

Keep up a positive attitude and it'll be here in no time - keeping a spot on the bench warm for you!!!

Megan M:  Have your MD send the referral again.  With a referral in August (2010, I'm assuming), you should have already had your surgery by now.

 My referral was sent in july 23rd and im having my surgery this month so you should hear something soon girl no worries :)

Hi megan i think you should call the registry cause these days it only takes like at least one month before they send you to a hospital so maybe some thing got mixed up i strongly think you should call it took me less than one month to be transferred so call them.
