Well, just arrived home about 1 hour ago from appt with Dr. Zupnik and was given clean bill of  health  and go ahead for surgery.  (What a wonderful man he is.)  Also made arrangements for PATTS to be done on 23rd with follow with Dr. Klein.  So my question now is as follows:

What exactly happens at the PATTS appt?  I was told I would be there about 3 hrs and then I could have lunch and then back for followup with Dr. Klein.

Thanx so much for all your help everyone.

Well, hopefully I remember it all.  It did take around 3 hours.  You check in and then wait.  You will see several folks that day, all in the same building.  You meet with a nurse who will go over post-surgery exercises, check your understanding of what's going to happen, go over the whole day of surgery with you, ask some questions, etc.  You will also get your blood work done and give a urine sample.  I had to go upstairs to get an ECG done, but I don't know if that's standard or not.  You will also meet with the anesthesiologist who will take your blood pressure and explain his end of things.  I think that's all.  Maybe someone else who had surgery at HRRH can chime in with anything I've forgotten,
Congratulations on embarking on this stage of your journey.  Gail

Thanx Gail for the information.  I did have an ECG today just before seeing Dr. Zupnik but the rest seems pretty straight forward.

So I guess I should take a book with me and settle in.

Thanx again for your help.

Definitely take a book (or two). It is a lot of waiting. For good measure you may want to plan to be there for possibly longer than the three hours as they can get behind. It is really straight forward. The waiting in not so comfy chairs was the hardest part. Good luck. I am sure you will do fine.
