Optifast - 9 days down, 5 to go

One week tomorrow, and I'm under the knife!  I'm getting in all 4 of my OF's every day, and augmenting that with the broth, jello, crystal light.  I've made popsicles, but have only had 1 or 2.

I've lost about 7 lbs. so far (as of Monday am).  I find that, although I love smelling the food, I'm not really craving anything.  Family had Chinese tonight and, even though I sat right there with them having my Jello, I really didn't feel the need to have any.  It's weird.  It's like my brain has already resolved itself to the fact that my food choices will be limited soon, so why worry.
Every day brings it closer.  Am I excited?  Yeah!  Am I scared?   Bricks!!

But it's all for a good thing in the end.  My health and longevity.

Great progress. How did you make popsicles?  Frozen crystal light?

Yes, I use CL to make my popsicles.  I bought some trays at the Dollar Store and have one tray at home and one at work.

I think you're just really focused on your surgery and doing everything right for yourself.  Good for you.

Sounds like you are ready to roll. I'm glad that you aren't having any issues with the Optifast stage. I think that you will find it even easier once you've had the surgery and aren't even hungry. I find it easy to make good food choices because I'm not thinking about food all the time. I wish you all the best for the remaining days on Optifast and hope your surgery goes well and your on the bench and recovering quickly.

Beth I felt the same way 2 weeks ago - my surgery was a week ago today. You are doing great and will be fine. It all goes very smoothly at the hospital and they will look after you. Keep focussed and calm - YOU WILL DO GREAT!

Hey Beth, it sounds like your head is in the right place with respect to food.  You are about to embark on a major life change, including surgery.  No wonder you are nervous and excited all at the same time.

Sending  to you.

All the best.
